WoWraVox
Every raider knows the feeling. Bloodlust lands, your defensive is ready, a trinket comes off cooldown, and you are staring at a wall of icons trying to catch all of it at once. WoWraVox solves that problem by simply telling you what is happening. It speaks, it flashes text on screen, and it plays a sound, so your eyes stay locked on the boss instead of your action bars.
What WoWraVox Actually Does
At its core, WoWraVox is a notification system built around your character. It watches auras, equipped items and spell cooldowns, then tells you the moment something starts, ends or becomes ready again. That covers the big raid buffs like Bloodlust, Heroism and Time Warp, but also personal defensives, procs and the cooldowns you actually care about.
The addon handles three main categories:
- Auras: announces buffs and debuffs on you, including raid lust effects, defensive cooldowns and procs, both when they begin and when they fade.
- Cooldowns and items: tells you when a trinket, equipped item, spell or returning charge is ready. Trinket rules can follow the slot, so swapping gear needs no new rule.
- Output options: voice through the built-in WoW Text-to-Speech, custom on-screen text with your own font, size, colour and position, plus short sounds for effects the game hides from addons during combat.
Voice, Text and Sound Working Together
The voice output uses the Text-to-Speech engine already inside World of Warcraft, so there is nothing extra to download or configure outside the game. Voice, speed and volume are set per rule, which means a Bloodlust callout can sound completely different from a quiet trinket reminder. On-screen text is fully customisable, and sound alerts cover the gaps where the game refuses to expose certain effects to addons in combat.
If you would rather skip the manual folder juggling entirely, the foxygame.net launcher can handle WoWraVox for you with a one-click install and automatic updates, keeping the addon current without you ever touching the AddOns directory.
Profiles and Setup
WoWraVox keeps separate profiles per character and per specialization, so your healing setup does not bleed into your DPS rules. New profiles start with three disabled examples you can copy and adjust, which is a much friendlier introduction than a blank settings page.
Opening the settings is simple. Type /wowravox or the shorter /wvr in chat, or click through from the addon compartment, Titan Panel or any LibDataBroker display. Inside, you can find spells by name or ID, preview exactly what a rule will do before you commit to it, and build out your notification list rule by rule.
How to Install WoWraVox
Installation follows the usual addon routine. Use the Wago or CurseForge app, WowUp, or download the ZIP from the latest release and extract the WoWraVox folder into Interface/AddOns. In WowUp, choose Get Addons, then Install from URL, and the tagged releases will be followed automatically. Once the folder is in place, restart the game or reload your interface and the addon is live.
Version Support and Compatibility
WoWraVox is built primarily for World of Warcraft Retail, where the Text-to-Speech API and modern aura tracking are fully available. The interface ships in English and German. Players on Classic, The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria should check the current release notes before installing, since API differences between those clients affect which features work. Always confirm the addon version matches your game client, because a Retail build will not load correctly on a Classic realm.
Privacy is refreshingly simple here. Everything stays inside your game client. The addon does not collect data, does not send anything anywhere, and does not phone home. What is new in each release is documented in the changelog on the download page.
Final Thoughts
WoWraVox fills a gap that most UI addons ignore. Instead of another bar or timer to watch, it delivers information the way a raid leader would, out loud and in the moment. Whether you are pushing mythic keys, learning a new spec or just tired of missing your trinket, the addon turns silent cooldowns into clear, timely callouts. Set it up once, tune a few rules, and let your ears do the work your eyes used to.
