Raid_CD
Every raid leader knows the sinking feeling. The healer goes down, someone calls for a battle res, and two other players hit their res buttons at the same instant. Three charges burned, one player saved. In Mythic+ the margin is even thinner, because the shared battle res pool is small and the run lives or dies on how you spend it. Raid_CD exists to make sure that never happens to your group again.
This lightweight addon tracks the shared battle res pool, the charges that Rebirth, Raise Ally, Soulstone, Intercession and every similar spell draw from during a boss encounter or a Mythic+ key. It displays that pool as a compact icon with the current charge count and a timer counting down to the next charge, then announces every change through the game's text to speech. If you have ever asked "how many reses do we have left" mid-pull, this is the answer, permanently on your screen.
What Raid_CD Tracks
The addon revolves around two indicators that sit together as a single movable group.
- Battle res indicator — an icon showing the available charges, turning red at zero, with a cooldown swipe and an m:ss timer until the next charge returns.
- Bloodlust and Heroism indicator — positioned below the res icon, it counts down the 40 second buff, then switches to the 10 minute lockout, detected from the Sated-style debuff on you. It works for every lust variant, whether that is Bloodlust, Heroism, Time Warp or any other flavor.
Because both icons are driven by the actual pool and debuff state rather than guesswork, the information stays accurate even when charges are spent by players you are not watching.
Voice Announcements That Keep the Group Informed
The text to speech layer is where Raid_CD earns its place in a raiding UI. When a charge is used or regained, the addon speaks the new count out loud: "Battle res used. 1 left." or "Battle res ready. 2 available." Each line is toggleable and fully editable in the options, so you can rewrite the template to something like "CR ready {0}", where {0} becomes the charge count. Lust callouts work the same way, with "Lust used." firing on activation and "Lust ready." only when the lockout expires mid-fight, which is exactly the moment a raid leader needs to know about it.
Every announcement has a play button so you can preview it, plus your choice of installed TTS voice and a volume slider. If you prefer silence during farm content, you can switch individual lines off without disabling the visual indicators.
Compatibility Across World of Warcraft Versions
Raid_CD is built for the modern addon API and runs cleanly on Retail, where the shared res pool and the Sated debuff behave as described above. The same interface and options panel carry over to Classic Era, The Burning Crusade Classic, Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Cataclysm Classic and Mists of Pandaria Classic, with the res and lust tracking adapting to whichever spells and debuffs each client uses. One addon, one set of slash commands, across every version you play.
If you want the simplest possible setup, the foxygame.net launcher installs Raid_CD in a single click and keeps it updated automatically, so a patch day never leaves you with a broken tracker. The launcher's addon catalog also flags which game versions each build supports, which takes the guesswork out of matching Raid_CD to your client.
How to Install and Configure
To download Raid_CD for World of Warcraft, grab the addon from your preferred source and place the folder in your Interface/AddOns directory, then restart the client or reload your UI. The setup takes less than a minute:
- Open the options with Esc > Options > AddOns > Raid CD, or type /raidcd or /rcd in chat.
- Toggle the battle res and lust indicators, and decide whether the icons should hide entirely while no pool is active.
- Edit the announcement templates and pick your TTS voice and volume.
- Enter Blizzard's Edit Mode to position both icons as one group; they show a preview with the familiar selection frame while you drag.
The panel itself is a flat dark design that matches the modern interface, and a minimap button gives you left-click access to the options plus drag-to-reposition if you like your minimap tidy. German players get full deDE localization out of the box.
Why It Belongs in Your UI
Raid_CD solves a small problem that costs big pulls. Knowing the exact number of battle reses left, seeing the lust lockout tick down, and hearing a calm voice confirm each change removes an entire category of raid communication. The addon stays out of the way when nothing is happening, clicks through outside Edit Mode, and speaks up only when the numbers actually matter. Download Raid_CD, drop it into your AddOns folder, and let your group stop guessing.
