RocketMount: Find Your Next WoW Mount Fast

RocketMount ranks every mount you are missing from easiest to hardest for World of Warcraft, so you always know what to farm next.

RocketMount: The Mount Tracker That Tells You What to Farm Next

Open your mount journal in World of Warcraft and you are greeted by hundreds of creatures you do not own. The real question is not what exists, but which one deserves your evening. RocketMount answers exactly that: it takes every mount you are missing, orders them from easiest to hardest by one stated rule, and explains the reasoning behind each position. Instead of another catalogue, you get a plan.

Why RocketMount Exists

Mount catalogues already exist, and many of them are excellent. What none of them solves is the decision paralysis of the journal. Out of four hundred mounts you lack, which one should you chase today? RocketMount gives every mount a single number and shows that number in the row. If you disagree with the ordering, you can see precisely why the addon ranked it that way.

The guiding principle is simple: absence of data is not absence of a requirement. When RocketMount cannot read something, it says so out loud rather than quietly treating "nothing known" as "nothing in the way." A mount locked behind a reputation none of your characters has will not sit at the top just because the API stayed silent. Requirements are read from the game itself, including reputation and renown, achievements, quests, vendor prices, and item tooltips, rather than from a hand-maintained database where a wrong entry looks exactly like a right one forever.

The List and How the Number Works

One list, ordered by one number, with columns for Mount, Type, Expansion, and percentage. Types cover Raid, Dungeon, Drop, Quest, Achievement, Renown, Reputation, Vendor, Profession, Event, and more. You can filter or group by Type and Expansion, and inside a group the list stays ordered by the number.

The number reflects what the mount depends on. A drop's chance per attempt, an achievement's progress counted like Almost Completed Achievements with partial criteria and meta achievements included, or the road to a reputation or renown level. Gold only counts once everything else is met. Achievement mounts are known from the game's own data, secret achievements included. Anything RocketMount cannot measure shows a question mark and goes last, and nothing shows 100% without being checked for your character.

A Requirement Is Not an Acquisition

Reputation and currency tell you whether you may try. Only a deterministic acquisition, such as buying from a vendor or handing in a quest, can ever be "just go get it." With a drop chance in the way, a met requirement unlocks the farm; it never completes it. That distinction holds the whole design together.

Cards, Maps, and Sighting Alerts

Every mount gets a card showing how it is obtained, the chance per difficulty where it differs, the expansion, faction, the full list of requirements each marked met or not, and where to find it, plus a button that drops a map pin. Player tips fill the gaps where the game's own text is not enough, signed with the year of the report. Every requirement is listed, not just the worst one, so a mount needing both a currency and a reputation says both.

All sources appear on the world map and minimap: rares, elites, world bosses, vendors, quest givers, treasures, portals, delves, and raid and dungeon entrances. Each marker uses the mount's icon and the game's own map art. A wandering rare gets one marker and its route. Hover for details, click to point the arrow, and looted rares dim until they can drop again. Sighting alerts trigger on the minimap vignette, nameplates, mouseover, target, and the yell a rare makes when it spawns, staying quiet for mounts you already own and inside dungeons, raids, delves, and scenarios.

Compatibility and Installation

RocketMount for World of Warcraft supports Retail, Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, and MoP, so whether you are farming old content or chasing current rares, the addon fits your client. Learning how to install it is straightforward: place the folder in your Interface/AddOns directory and enable it from the addon list at character select. If you prefer a simpler route, the foxygame.net launcher installs RocketMount in one click and keeps it updated automatically, which saves you from manually replacing folders after every patch.

RocketMount works on its own and reads no other addon. Drop chances, prices, vendors, quest givers, bosses, and places all come with it or from the game itself. Slash commands like /rmt, /rmt sources, /rmt faction, /rmt gone, /rmt warn, /rmt search, /rmt expansion, and /rmt who give you quick control, and the Portuguese aliases still work. English and Brazilian Portuguese are supported using the game's own wording where available.

Known Limits, Stated Up Front

  • Guild vendor mounts cannot be fully read, since nothing links a guild achievement to a mount.
  • Expansion is derived from mount ID ranges, so a few late additions land one expansion off.
  • Attempt lockouts do not change the number, so a weekly 1% drop and an unlimited 1% drop look the same.
  • Achievements spread across a zone have no map marker.
