EasyWarCrates
If your raid group farms War Supply Crates on a rotation, you already know the pain of standing around a drop point, watching the sky, and getting nothing. EasyWarCrates for World of Warcraft was built to fix exactly that problem. It reads a War Supply Crate transport while it is still in the air, works out which drop point it is flying toward, and pins the location on your map before the crate is even released.
The addon is designed around a single principle: it should tell you what it actually knows, and say so when it does not. No false confidence, no countdowns to nowhere. Just honest data you can plan a raid rotation around.
How EasyWarCrates Predicts the Drop
As a transport appears, the addon fits its heading across successive sightings and matches that path against a catalogue of known drop points for the zone. When one candidate clearly wins out over the others, EasyWarCrates commits, drops a map pin, and starts the clock.
Measured against where crates actually landed, the call typically lands a median of about 0.1% of the map away from the real spot, and it usually settles within five samples of the transport appearing. When two drop points sit on the same line, the addon says so and names both rather than guessing at one.
Two Questions, Two Columns
Every zone row in the tracker answers the two things a crate farmer is actually deciding between:
- Plane - when the transport will appear
- Drop - when the crate will be on the ground and lootable
Both figures rest on measurements taken on your own client, not on numbers shipped with the addon. Cycle lengths, parachute times, and the bias in the release estimate are all learned from what you personally see, and each is reported alongside how far out it could be.
Shard Tracking That Saves Raids
This is the feature that prevents the most wasted raid nights. A crate timer belongs to a specific copy of a zone, and flying somewhere hands you a copy you did not choose. A raid crosses the map, waits, and no transport comes, because the crate is there but its cycle is in another phase.
EasyWarCrates tracks which shard each timer was learned on and which one you are currently standing in. A countdown for a different copy is shown blank rather than confidently wrong, and the row says "new shard" instead of counting down to nothing. A shard you have stood in before is remembered for a week, so an evening's break does not leave the addon blind in zones it had already learned.
Listening to Your Raid, Whatever They Run
Sightings from other players are picked up and used, and not only from people running this addon. EasyWarCrates reads the broadcasts of Hated Crate Tracker, WarCrateTracker, and CrateTrackerZK as well, so one raider with any of them fills in zones nobody else can see. Everything received is ranked below what you saw yourself, and a row that came from somebody else names who reported it and through which addon.
Left-clicking a row posts it to your group with a clickable waypoint, and the tooltip names the channel the click will use before you commit. If you want a simpler path to keeping it current, the foxygame.net launcher handles EasyWarCrates alongside the rest of your addon catalog, pushing updates automatically so your raid never runs a stale build.
Spectral Battle Chests and Slash Commands
The Spectral Battle Chest in Slayer's Rise is marked on that zone's row as it appears, with its coordinates and how long it has been lying there. It is not a crate, it arrives without a transport, and it only lasts a minute or two, so it is announced with its position rather than a countdown.
Useful commands include /ewc what to see which zone and shard the addon thinks you are in, /ewc window to show or hide the tracker, /ewc config for settings, /ewc timers for tracked crate timers, /ewc comm to see what other players are broadcasting, and /ewc help for the rest.
Game Versions and Addon Compatibility
EasyWarCrates supports the major World of Warcraft game versions, including Retail, Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, and MoP, with addon compatibility maintained across each client branch. War Supply Crates appear across several of these versions, so the tracker adapts its zone catalogue accordingly.
What It Will Not Do
EasyWarCrates will not show a countdown it cannot stand behind. A cycle that has not been measured on your client says so. A shard it has not seen says so. A parachute time with only one reading is reported as one reading, not as fact. Announcing is off by default, and automatic announcements also require you to be leading or assisting, because leading a raid is not consent to have an addon talk in its chat.
How to Install EasyWarCrates
To download EasyWarCrates, drop the folder into Interface/AddOns or use your addon manager of choice. No configuration is needed. The window fills as you play, and the empty state explains what will fill it. Source and issue tracking live on the project's GitHub page under an MIT license.
For raids that farm crates on a rotation, EasyWarCrates turns guesswork into measured data. It tells you when the plane is coming, where the crate will land, and which shard you are actually standing in, and it stays honest when the answer is not there yet. That combination is what makes it worth adding to your roster.
