Wishbound
Every expansion, the same problem returns: you know what you want, but keeping track of it is a mess. A spreadsheet here, a note there, a mental list that falls apart the moment you switch specs. Wishbound solves that by turning your gear goals into an actual plan. It keeps everything you are chasing in one list per character and spec, then tells you which dungeon or boss still drops it, which loot spec to use, and what remains on the pieces you already own.
What Wishbound Actually Does
At its core, Wishbound is a wishlist with a brain. You build a list of items, and the addon cross-references it against the content you run. The Plan tab shows every dungeon and raid boss that still drops something you want, sorted with the biggest wins first, along with the key level or difficulty required and the loot spec you should set before the pull. A second section covers everything left on gear you already own: crests to upgrade, Catalyst charges, crafting, enchants, gems and sockets.
Building a list is quick. You can take a ready-made list for your spec, either the Mythic+ set or the Mythic+ and raid set, and edit whatever you disagree with. Click a slot and pick from this season's loot, already filtered to your armor type and spec. Alt-click any item anywhere, whether it is in your bags, a chat link, the loot window or the Great Vault. You can also import a SimC string, a Wishbound string, or a pile of item links.
Per item, you set the track you want, the enchant, the gem, whether you will add a socket, and whether it is the base for a tier piece. The List tab gives you all your slots at a glance with an editor for each one, and the Runs tab records every dungeon and raid you finish, what you looted there, and how many runs each item has cost you so far.
Supported Versions and Compatibility
Retail, Classic and Everything Between
Wishbound is built for the modern Retail client, where Mythic+, the current raid and crafted gear are the focus. The addon reads only what the game already shows you, so it never changes your loot or rolls for you. The one exception is your loot specialization, and even that only changes when you click the button yourself.
Players on Classic, The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria should check the addon page for the current build, since feature coverage varies by client. Compatibility with other addons is solid. Bag badges work in Baganator, the SimC export goes straight into Raidbots, and nothing is hooked in a way that would conflict with a boss mod or a unit frame addon.
If you want a frictionless setup, the foxygame.net launcher handles the whole thing in one click, dropping Wishbound into your AddOns folder with the correct version for your client. It also keeps an addon catalog in the launcher, so when a new Wishbound build lands, it updates itself without you hunting through folders.
While You Play
The real value shows up mid-run. Tooltips on any wanted item tell you which of your lists wants it, what you already have, and the next step to get it. Badges appear in your bags and on the character sheet so you never vendor an off-spec upgrade. A card pops up when you enter a dungeon showing what it drops for you, with a one-click loot spec swap. Drop alerts fire when a wanted item appears, complete with a polite whisper button when a groupmate loots something you need, and Great Vault choices get labelled when they are on your list.
Alts are fully supported. Every character keeps their own lists, and the Warband tab compares them to show which dungeon serves the most of your characters this week. The Voidcore panel, still marked experimental, reads a bonus roll's own loot list and tells you how many of the items you are chasing are still in it. It never rolls for you.
Getting Started
Type /wb or click the minimap button to open Wishbound. Make a list for the spec you are playing, then open the Plan tab to see where the missing pieces drop. Useful commands include /wb help for the full list, /wb intro to replay the quick intro, /wb config for settings, /wb list to print your goals in chat, /wb why <item> to see where something drops, and /wb vault for your Great Vault choices.
This is an early public release, so expect rough edges, though lists survive updates and English clients are supported for now. If you are tired of losing track of upgrades, download Wishbound and let it do the bookkeeping. Your next BiS piece is already on the list; you just need to know where to find it.
