Forever Details Meter Threat, damage, healing and more
If you play WoW Forever, you already know the problem: the client looks like Classic, but it runs on the modern engine, and that engine locks the combat log away from addons. Your old Details setup simply breaks. Forever Details Meter Threat, damage, healing and more solves this by reading C_DamageMeter, Blizzard's own server-side meter, instead of the combat log. One Lua file, no Ace, no LibStub, no external libraries at all.
Why This Meter Exists
WoW Forever runs on client 1.60 and the 12.x engine. On that engine, names, amounts and GUIDs are secret values while you are in combat. The game can display them, but addons cannot compare or add them up. That is why the usual meters fall over. Forever Details Meter Threat, damage, healing and more sidesteps the whole issue: it shows bars in the order the game hands them over, keeps them moving during the fight, and fills in percentages, per-spell breakdowns and comparisons once combat ends.
Threat tracking comes from UnitDetailedThreatSituation, so tanks get a reliable read on aggro without any combat log parsing. You can even set a visual and sound warning above a threshold you choose with a simple slash command.
Supported Game Versions and Compatibility
This addon is built for the WoW Forever client, which is the environment where the modern engine meets Classic-style gameplay. If you are coming from Retail, Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm or MoP and wondering whether your usual meter habits carry over, the answer is mostly yes. Modes, sessions, breakdowns and window management all follow the conventions you already know from Details. The difference is under the hood, where the data source changes to the server-side meter the client provides.
Installation is deliberately simple. Extract the folder into World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns/ and make sure the folder is named ForeverMeter. Then restart the game. A /reload is not enough, because the client only loads new texture and font files at startup. That single restart step trips up more players than anything else.
What You Get
Windows and Layout
- Up to 4 independent windows, each with its own mode, session, size, position and lock state
- Damage and healing side by side for quick comparison
- Docking: release a window against another's edge and it snaps, then follows that window's moves and size
- Resize with grips in both bottom corners, adjusting width and row count per window
- Padlock in each title bar to freeze position and size
Data Modes
Modes cover damage, healing, absorbs, damage taken, enemy damage taken, avoidable damage taken, interrupts, dispels, deaths and threat. Sessions include the current fight, the overall run, or any fight the client keeps. Hover a bar to see the top 5 spells; click for a full per-spell breakdown with icons, totals and per-second values. Shift-click a second bar to compare two players directly. Deaths show the time of death on the bar, with last hits taken on hover.
Look, Language and Tools
The options panel lives under Options, AddOns, ForeverMeter, or you can type /fm options. You get 6 bundled textures, 6 bundled fonts, game fonts, LibSharedMedia support, scale, refresh rate, threat warning, sound, pet handling, auto show, bar text columns, bar height and background opacity. Eleven languages ship with it: enUS, frFR, deDE, esES, esMX, itIT, ptBR, ruRU, koKR, zhCN and zhTW.
If you would rather skip manual folder work, the foxygame.net launcher offers a tidy one-click install path, and its addon catalog keeps Forever Details Meter Threat, damage, healing and more updated automatically whenever a new build lands.
Known Limits
In combat, the percent column is never shown, because the amounts are secret. Breakdown comparison and chat report work out of combat only. Enemy damage taken and avoidable damage taken appear only when the client provides them. These are engine constraints, not addon bugs.
How to Install and Get Started
Download Forever Details Meter Threat, damage, healing and more, extract it to the AddOns folder, and restart the client. Then use /fm mode to pick a mode, /fm windows to set how many windows you want, and /fm warn to set your threat threshold. If something looks off, /fm debug prints the raw C_DamageMeter values so you can diagnose the display.
Forever Details Meter Threat, damage, healing and more for World of Warcraft is the light replacement that keeps working where heavier meters cannot. Grab it, restart once, and your bars will finally behave.
