EUI-RestedXP
Leveling guides are only as good as the window you read them in, and that window spends hours on your screen. EUI-RestedXP exists to make those hours easier on the eyes. It is a bridge addon that connects RestedXP Guides with EllesmereUI, so your guide window, its navigation arrow and every related color follow your EllesmereUI accent color in real time. What EUI-RestedXP Actually Does
At its core, the addon is a theming and reskin engine built specifically around the RestedXP leveling experience. It does not replace RestedXP Guides; it dresses it up. Once you activate the theme, RestedXP's backgrounds, borders, map pins, tooltips and text all derive from your EllesmereUI accent color, or from a custom color if you would rather lock it down. Activation is a single click from the options menu, and deactivation restores RestedXP's stock look just as quickly.
A Full Guide Window Reskin Engine
Beyond color, EUI-RestedXP ships with five custom layouts, each with its own appearance page for fonts, sizes, fade behavior and colors inside EUI's options window:
- Frameless — a borderless window with flat panels for a clean, modern feel
- Timeline — a vertical step timeline that reads like a quest checklist
- Compact — dense and small, ideal for tight screens or ultrawide setups
- Zygor-style — the familiar waypoint look many players grew up with
- 8-Bit — a pixel-art quest log with Silkscreen and VT323 fonts, CRT scanlines and chunky navigation buttons
Every layout supports left-click to skip a step, right-click to go back, double-click to travel to a listed step and mouse wheel scrolling, all with smooth animations. If you have ever wanted a leveling guide that feels like part of your interface instead of a foreign panel bolted onto it, this is the point of the addon.
A Navigation Arrow That Matches Your UI
The arrow matters more than most players expect. EUI-RestedXP offers chevron, card, shaded Classic and Zygor-style arrow styles, plus a Meters option for yards-to-meters conversion and a Time to Waypoint estimate. When the EllesmereUI theme is active, RestedXP's own arrow is tinted with your accent color too, so nothing on screen clashes.
Compatibility Across World of Warcraft Versions
EUI-RestedXP is built for WoW Forever and Midnight 12.1 and newer clients, and the theming approach translates cleanly to the broader RestedXP ecosystem. Players running RestedXP Guides on Retail, Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm and MoP will find the same design philosophy applies: the guide window follows your interface rather than fighting it. Note that the engine layouts require RestedXP's classic guide window, so the addon cleanly disables RXP's Interface V2 option, which hides that window. RestedXP Guides is a hard requirement, and the addon is designed for EllesmereUI; without EUI it simply falls back to its own green accent.
One practical tip before you start: if Jo's LiteTweaks is running its own RestedXP reskin, EUI-RestedXP will warn you, because the two engines would fight over the same window. Turn one of them off and everything behaves.
How to Install EUI-RestedXP
Installation is deliberately old-school and takes under a minute. Unzip the EUI-RestedXP folder into your Interface\AddOns directory, run /reload, then open the EUI-RestedXP options, go to the Theme page and click Activate in RestedXP. Useful commands include /euirxp for options, /euirxp status for full diagnostics and /euirxp reset if you want to start over.
