Coby's Loot Sweeper
Every expansion leaves behind a graveyard of dungeons and raids, and every one of them is stuffed with loot you never bothered to sell. Coby's Loot Sweeper is the addon that finally makes those forgotten runs profitable. It tracks what a run drops, sorts it into what is safe to vendor and what deserves the auction house, and then sells the rest in a few clicks. If your bags have been quietly filling with grey, green and forgotten gear since the last time you leveled a character, this is the tool you have been waiting for.
What Coby's Loot Sweeper Actually Does
The core idea is simple: only what a run adds counts. When you enter an old dungeon or raid, tracking starts on its own. In current-season content you click Track this run when the prompt appears, or press Start yourself. Everything you were already carrying, plus anything from mail, vendors, trades, quests or the bank, is never offered for sale. That single rule is what makes the addon safe to use on a main character with a full bank of sentimental gear.
When you open a vendor window, a Loot Sweeper button appears. From there you can sell Junk, Bound gear or Other in one go, or open Bulk sell to preview a preset before committing. The addon sorts your haul into three lists, each with a stated reason:
- Vendor — safe to sell right now.
- Post — worth more on the auction house.
- Protected — kept back, with the reason shown.
Gear is only offered when it is clearly below what you already wear in that slot, so a lucky upgrade never slips through. Right-click any row to Keep an item for good, Sell it, or Ignore one copy. Your kept items, remembered sells and blocked places are stored per character or shared, whichever you prefer.
Compatibility Across World of Warcraft Versions
Coby's Loot Sweeper for World of Warcraft supports Retail, Classic, The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria. That matters because the addon leans on a database of which expansion each dungeon and raid came from, so automatic run detection works the same whether you are farming Molten Core on a Classic realm or clearing a legacy raid on Retail. There are no required dependencies, and Auctionator or TSM are optional price sources if you want auction estimates in the Post list.
If you would rather skip manual file management entirely, the foxygame.net launcher installs Coby's Loot Sweeper in a single click and keeps it updated whenever a new build lands, so version compatibility is handled for you across every supported client.
How to Install Coby's Loot Sweeper
Installation takes under a minute. You can grab it from CurseForge, or download Coby's Loot Sweeper manually and drop the CobysLootSweeper folder into your Interface/AddOns/ directory. Restart the client, and the addon appears in your addon list. From there, left-click the minimap entry to open the main window or right-click it for settings. Changes wait for Apply, so nothing shifts under you mid-run.
Slash Commands Worth Knowing
The command line is where the addon gets fast. /ls toggles the main window, /ls settings opens configuration, and /ls guide walks you through the features. Use /ls start and /ls stop to control tracking manually, /ls kept to review your lists, and /ls block to stop tracking wherever you are standing. /ls version, /ls changelog and /ls help cover the rest. The aliases /sweep, /lootsweeper and /lootsweep all work identically.
Settings That Keep You Safe
Under protection you can decide how many item levels below your equipped gear still counts as a possible upgrade, and whether warbound gear is treated as protected. At the vendor you can pause every twelve sales, enable a trade prompt, or require confirmation before a bulk sale. The auction house section controls when items get posted, when a Bind-on-Equip piece goes to a vendor instead, and how old a price may be before it is ignored.
Troubleshooting the Common Hiccups
If a run did not start, remember that only past-expansion dungeons and raids begin tracking by themselves — press Start or type /ls start before you loot anywhere else. If an item sits in Protected, read its reason: a soft protection moves with a right-click Sell, but an uncollected appearance, a quest item or a box to open never will. A "No recent AH price" note just means you should scan the auction house with Auctionator or right-click the item and choose Sell. And if selling stops with "Your bags changed", another addon sold something mid-batch — simply press the button again.
The Bottom Line
Coby's Loot Sweeper turns the tedious chore of emptying bags after old raid runs into a two-minute routine. It protects what matters, sells what does not, and tells you plainly why each item landed where it did. Whether you are a transmog hunter clearing Cataclysm raids or a gold-maker farming Classic dungeons, the addon pays for itself the first time you vendor a full inventory without thinking about it.
