KillAura: The Automatic Attack Add-On for Minecraft

Combat in Minecraft rewards fast reflexes and precise timing, but not every player wants to grind out hundreds of clicks to stay competitive. KillAura is a client-side add-on that handles melee attacks for you, striking every living thing within vanilla reach the moment it becomes a valid target. Whether you are clearing a mob grinder, defending a base, or testing combat mechanics in a private world, this mod takes the clicking out of your hands and lets you focus on positioning and strategy.

What KillAura Actually Does

At its core, KillAura automatically attacks every living entity in range. The default reach is three blocks, matching vanilla standards, and it never hits through walls. Targets are prioritized by proximity, so the closest threat goes down first. By default the aura engages players, monsters, and all other living mobs, while creative and spectator players and armor stands are left untouched.

Two details separate KillAura from sloppier automation tools. The first is full-power hits: on Minecraft 1.9 and newer, the mod waits until the attack cooldown is completely charged before swinging, so every strike deals maximum damage. On 1.8.9, where no cooldown exists, it attacks at roughly ten clicks per second, a rate you can adjust and slightly randomize. The second is silent rotation. Before each hit, the server receives a packet showing you looking directly at your target, while your own camera stays exactly where you left it. Your view never jerks around, which keeps the experience clean and your aim undisturbed.

Supported Versions and Loaders

KillAura covers an unusually wide spread of Minecraft releases. Fabric and Quilt users can run it on 26.1 through 26.3 and on 1.20 through 1.21.11. Forge builds exist for 1.20.6 through 26.3 and for the classic 1.8.9. NeoForge is supported from 1.20.5 through 26.3 as well as 1.20.2 to 1.20.4, while 1.20 through 1.20.4 works on both Forge and NeoForge. Legacy Fabric handles 1.8.9 as well, with the Legacy Fabric API optional. Depending on your loader, you may also need Fabric API or Quilt Loader 0.31 or newer.

Every published file was tested in a real client across all listed versions and loaders, covering 95 combinations. Testers verified that nothing is attacked while the aura is off, that pigs, monsters, and villagers in reach die after pressing J, that mobs behind walls or beyond reach are ignored, that the server registers the silent rotation, and that switching the aura off stops all attacks immediately. If you would rather skip manual file juggling, the foxygame.net launcher offers KillAura through its built-in add-on catalog, handling version matching and updates in a single click.

Configuration and Controls

Toggling the aura is simple: press J, which you can rebind under Controls, and a "Kill Aura ON / OFF" indicator appears above your hotbar. Everything else lives in config/killaura.json, and the file is re-read each time you enable the aura, so you can tweak settings without restarting the game. Options include:

  • Reach distance and field of view
  • Which entity types count as targets
  • Rotation mode: silent, visible, or none
  • Target priority: closest, lowest health, or best angle
  • Pausing in menus or while eating

Because the mod is entirely client-side, it does nothing on a server by itself, and installing it is a standard drag-and-drop into your mods folder once you match the right file to your loader.

A Word of Caution

Most multiplayer servers explicitly forbid auras, and modern anti-cheat systems are built to detect silent rotation and inhuman click rates. Getting caught typically means a ban, so treat KillAura as a singleplayer tool or use it only on servers that openly permit it. Used responsibly, it is a fascinating way to study combat timing and cooldown mechanics, and a genuine convenience for anyone tired of spam-clicking through wave after wave of hostile mobs.
