Dream Displays: Watch Videos Together in Minecraft

Dream Displays

Minecraft has always been about building worlds, but what if those worlds could also play your favorite videos? Dream Displays is an add-on that brings real video playback directly into the game, letting you watch YouTube, Twitch, and other media on in-game screens with your friends. Whether you are hosting a movie night on your server or setting up a livestream viewing party, this mod and plugin combo makes it surprisingly simple.

What Is Dream Displays?

Dream Displays is a media playback solution for Minecraft that turns ordinary blocks into working displays. You create a display, paste a link, and playback begins. There is no complicated setup, no external software required on the client side, and no need to leave the game to enjoy content together.

The add-on supports a wide range of sources. YouTube videos and livestreams play ad-free, up to 4K, with multiple audio language options. Twitch brings live channels, VODs, and clips. Kick offers live channels and VODs, while Vimeo handles public videos and live events. Bilibili fans can watch videos, live channels, and bungumi content. Direct video links, share links from Google Drive, Dropbox, and Imgur, and pretty much any other video URL you can think of are all supported too.

Built for Multiplayer and Singleplayer

One of the strongest features of Dream Displays is how it handles multiplayer synchronization. Playback stays perfectly in sync across the server while keeping network usage extremely low, so even large groups can watch together without lag. You can choose between local, synchronized, and broadcast playback modes depending on how you want your displays to behave.

Server owners will appreciate the broad platform support. Dream Displays runs on Paper, Folia, Fabric, and NeoForge, covering both plugin-based and mod-based setups. Supported Minecraft versions span the modern release cycle, so most players on current builds can jump right in.

If you prefer a streamlined setup, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click install option that handles Dream Displays for you, removing the need to manually manage files or dependencies. The launcher also keeps everything updated automatically, so you never miss a compatibility fix or new feature.

How to Install Dream Displays

Getting started is straightforward. First, download Dream Displays from a trusted source such as Modrinth, CurseForge, or the official GitHub repository. Make sure you pick the build that matches your server platform, whether that is Paper, Folia, Fabric, or NeoForge, and confirm it supports your Minecraft version.

Next, place the file in your server or client mods folder depending on your setup. Restart the server to load the add-on. Once running, use the in-game commands to create your first display, paste a video link, and adjust settings like size and brightness. Tips for New Users

Start with a small display to test playback before building a massive screen. Experiment with the different playback modes to see which fits your group best. If you run a public server, set up LuckPerms permissions early so players can use displays without causing chaos.

Final Thoughts

Dream Displays transforms Minecraft into a shared viewing space without breaking the game's feel. It is easy to set up, light on network resources, and packed with features that matter for both casual players and serious server admins. If you have ever wanted to watch videos with friends inside your world, this is the add-on to try. Build your first display, invite your friends, and make screens a natural part of your builds.
