SimpleEllesmereExtras
If you run EllesmereUI, you already know how clean it makes your interface look. But EllesmereUI does not skin everything, and that is exactly where SimpleEllesmereExtras comes in. This third-party addon fills the gaps with window packs, chat quality-of-life features and a few clever extras, all without touching a single window EllesmereUI already handles. It is not made by Ellesmere, and it never asks you to edit anything inside EllesmereUI itself. Everything flows through the public skinning API, which keeps both addons happily independent.
What SimpleEllesmereExtras Actually Does
The addon is best understood as a collection of small, focused modules. Each one solves a specific annoyance, and each one can be switched off if you do not want it. Here is the breakdown.
Window Packs
EllesmereUI skins the big frames, but plenty of small Blizzard windows slip through. SimpleEllesmereExtras skins those leftovers. It flattens the Group Finder and PVP category rails into a flat plate with a squared icon, covers the role poll, the PVP ready dialog and the "Choose your Roles" prompt, and even skins chat bubbles. Your chosen font carries across 31 windows, and button labels are fitted rather than clipped, so "Start a Group" stays whole instead of turning into "Start a Gro". The whole pack toggles with /euilocal, and it deliberately avoids any window EllesmereUI already skins.
Chat Link Preview
Hover an item, spell, quest, achievement or currency link in chat and its tooltip appears right there. Move away, scroll or enter combat and it vanishes again. The command /euihover toggles the feature whenever you want it gone.
Emoji in Chat
The game's fonts draw a real Unicode emoji as an empty box. SimpleEllesmereExtras replaces it with an inline texture instead, covering every single-codepoint emoji Noto has art for. Shortcodes like  work too, along with classic ASCII smileys, and there are around ninety short aliases plus full Unicode names. What you actually send is untouched, so players without the addon still read  rather than nothing at all. Use /euiemoji to toggle rendering, /euiemoji size to set the size, or /euiemoji list to search names.
Baganator Skin and Gear Alerts
Bags, bank and guild bank pick up the EllesmereUI look, and item slots stay untouched when Masque owns them. The skin follows EllesmereUI's own Third-Party Addons switch. Separately, a pulsing border marks any character-sheet or inspect-sheet slot missing an enchant in red or a gem in amber, following EllesmereUI's rules for which slots take an enchant in 12.x.
Commands and Compatibility
Most settings live behind simple slash commands. /euihover toggles the chat link preview, /euiemoji handles emoji rendering and sizing, and /euilocal on, off or status controls the window packs, followed by a /reload. Two diagnostics help with bug reports: /euidiag dumps a window's text with its font, size and box widths, while /seediag lists text that is truncated or spilling out of its frame. Paste either into a report and the author has something useful to work with.
Compatibility is broad. SimpleEllesmereExtras for World of Warcraft supports Retail, Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm and MoP, so you can keep the same setup across your favorite versions. The chat features work with or without EllesmereUI installed, while the window packs, the Baganator skin and the gear alert need it. If you are wondering how to install it, the process is the usual one: drop the folder into your Interface/AddOns directory and enable it at the character screen. When you download SimpleEllesmereExtras, check that the version matches your game client.
For players who prefer a simpler route, the foxygame.net launcher handles SimpleEllesmereExtras through its addon catalog, so you can install it with one click and let auto-updates keep every supported version current without touching your folders manually.
Support and Source
Bugs, questions and ideas all go to Discord at discord.gg/zHT3bGEQ52. Use #support for bugs and help, #ideas for feature requests and #announcements for release notes. The GitHub issue tracker works too, and including your EllesmereUI version in a bug report speeds things up considerably. The source lives at github.com/JoesphG/SimpleEllesmereExtras under the MIT license, with emoji art from Noto Color Emoji under OFL 1.1.
SimpleEllesmereExtras is not trying to replace EllesmereUI. It is the finishing coat, the small details that make an interface feel complete: tidy windows, readable chat, working emoji and a visible nudge when your gear is missing an enchant or gem. If you already run EllesmereUI, adding this alongside it costs you nothing and fixes a surprising number of little frustrations.
