PetiMarks

Dungeon runs live and die on split-second decisions. Which mob do you interrupt first? Which caster deserves the skull? PetiMarks answers those questions by painting personal priority markers directly above enemy nameplates in World of Warcraft. Nothing is shared with your party, no raid markers are placed or changed, and the addon stays disabled in raid groups and raid instances, including solo entry. It is a private visual layer that helps you track the eight supported Midnight Season 2 dungeons without stepping on anyone else's marking system.

What PetiMarks Does

At its core, PetiMarks gives you local visual indicators for dungeon priorities. Skulls highlight your main targets, X marks secondary ones, a purple diamond flags enemies to avoid contact with, and optional orange warnings appear for frontal abilities. Large pulsing skulls draw your eye when a warning qualifies, while the skull on your currently selected target stays steady by default so you never lose track of it. Every other skull keeps flashing as usual.

The catalogue rules draw on Method's Important Abilities and encounter-specific exceptions, with numeric IDs checked against MDT. Optional Blizzard important-cast indicators are supported, complete with visual memory while the same nameplate remains available. There is also an optional PetiAggro-style warning for enemies with public nil threat data during combat, which can flag a target without waiting for a cast to finish.

Compatibility Across WoW Versions

PetiMarks for World of Warcraft targets the modern Retail client where Midnight Season 2 dungeons exist. Players running Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, or MoP should check the project page for the current compatibility statement before expecting dungeon catalogue support, since the marker logic depends on APIs and content that only exist in Retail. If you play across multiple versions, keep separate addon folders so updates do not overwrite each other.

If you would rather skip manual file management, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click install path that places PetiMarks into the correct addon directory automatically, and its built-in addon catalogue keeps everything current with auto-updates. That approach also helps when you juggle several WoW installations side by side.

Features at a Glance

  • Large, pulsing skulls for eligible warnings, with a steady skull on your selected target.
  • Catalogue rules informed by Method's Important Abilities and encounter-specific exceptions, with numeric IDs checked against MDT.
  • Optional Blizzard important-cast indicators with visual memory.
  • Optional PetiAggro-style warnings for enemies with public nil threat data during combat.
  • Movable minimap button, size and position controls, a visual legend, and a clearly labelled TEST mode.
  • Copyable local diagnostics with a rolling history of up to 50 pulls and 15-day retention.

What to Expect in Practice

Blizzard may hide enemy identity and combat information, and specific catalogue rules require publicly available data. The addon does not decode secrets or recover identities through alternate methods. No threat data does not prove that an enemy is a totem or a kill priority, and the optional heuristic can flag other enemies too. It requires an attackable, publicly alive enemy, both units publicly in combat, and a public nil threat result. Numeric zero, secret data, and API failures do not qualify. Known catalogue entries take precedence when the enemy can be identified.

Blizzard spell importance does not guarantee interruptibility, and losing or reusing a nameplate can clear remembered importance. Offscreen-nameplate settings can help when turning the camera, but they do not increase nameplate range.

Supported Dungeons

The catalogue covers Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, King's Rest, Ruby Life Pools, and Temple of Sethraliss. In total it contains 90 dungeon and NPC rules plus 11 frontal warnings.

How to Install and Get Started

To download PetiMarks, grab the package from its CurseForge project page, then extract the folder into your World of Warcraft addons directory. Once in game, enable the addon and click its skull minimap button or type /pm. Use /pm test to adjust placement and size, and /pm test off to stop the test. Remember that TEST is a rendering check, not evidence that an enemy is a priority. The settings and explanations are currently primarily Spanish, while matching uses numeric IDs rather than translated enemy names. MDT and PetiAggro are not required at runtime.

For troubleshooting, /pm status produces a copyable diagnostic and /pm logs shows the latest pull. Recording is enabled by default and can be disabled with /pm log off. Reports stay in local SavedVariables and contain aggregate counters and public errors, not enemy identities or secret values. Nothing is uploaded automatically, and WoW writes the data on reload or exit.

Credits and Support

PetiMarks is maintained by PetiUtilities with AI-assisted development. Catalogue references include Method's dungeon guides and Mythic Dungeon Tools by Nnoggie and contributors, and the no-threat warning is inspired by PetiAggro. It is licensed under GNU GPL v2 only, with credits and license included in the download. Report issues through the project's CurseForge comments with the addon version, dungeon, expected behaviour, and a reviewed diagnostic report, and avoid posting personal account paths. The project avatar is an AI-generated illustration inspired by the owner's character, not an in-game screenshot or a demonstration of functionality. This project is not endorsed by Blizzard, Method, MDT, or CurseForge.

If you want a private, no-fuss way to keep dungeon priorities visible without touching party markers, PetiMarks delivers exactly that, and a quick test session will tell you whether its skulls and warnings fit your UI.
