Using the Addon to Its Full Potential

Once O Item Level (OiLvL) is active, you will notice a minimap button and a draggable main frame. Left-clicking the minimap icon opens the OiLvL window, which lists all party or raid members with their item levels, roles, and ranks. Right-clicking the icon or the frame opens the configuration panel, where you can fine-tune every aspect of the display.

Inspection and Gear Details

Hovering over a unit frame shows a tooltip with specialization, item level, and raid progression. Alt-left-clicking a unit opens the first inspection frame, while ctrl-left-clicking opens a second, allowing you to compare gear side by side. The addon even highlights item levels in red if a gear slot is empty, and changes the background color if enchants or gems are missing. You can rescan a raider by left-clicking their name, and middle-clicking marks them for focused reporting.

Commands and Reporting

O Item Level (OiLvL) introduces several slash commands to streamline communication. /oi or /oilvl toggles the main frame. /oicfg opens the configuration panel. /oir [itemLink] triggers the loot roll frame, which is invaluable for raid leaders. When you use the built-in buttons like Target, Party, or Raid, the addon sends a formatted message with item levels. Right-clicking these buttons sends only average item levels by role, while middle-clicking sends only players with missing enchants or gems.

Loot Roll and Cache Features

The loot roll frame is a standout tool. By typing /oir [itemLink] MS > OS, a raid leader can announce a roll and automatically display the relevant equipped gear of each roller. The cache feature saves the last 100 inspected players, so you can review their gear even after they leave the group. Alt equipment is also saved automatically upon login, making it easy to track your entire roster.
