InnerMe
If you play a Druid in World of Warcraft, you know the pain. You are deep in a Mythic+ run, focused on keeping your tank alive, when suddenly a DPS whispers "inner me" and you completely miss it. By the time you check your chat log, the moment has passed, and you are left with an annoyed group member. InnerMe solves this problem forever by turning those whispered requests into an unmissable visual alert.
What Is InnerMe?
InnerMe is a lightweight addon designed specifically for Druids who are tired of scouring their chat window for Innervate requests. It watches your incoming whispers in real time and compares them against a trigger phrase you set. The default trigger is "inner me," but you can configure any phrase you like. When someone whispers that phrase, the addon pops up a large Innervate icon right in the middle of your screen, complete with the requester's name displayed below it.
The beauty of InnerMe is its simplicity. There is no complex setup, no convoluted options menu. You install it, set your preferred trigger text, and you are ready to go. The addon handles everything else automatically, even ignoring case sensitivity so "Inner Me," "INNER ME," and "inner me" all work perfectly.
Key Features at a Glance
- Configurable trigger text: Set any phrase you want, with "inner me" as the sensible default.
- Optional sender filter: Choose to react only to a specific player (by name or Name-Realm) or accept requests from anyone.

How to Install InnerMe
Installing InnerMe is a straightforward process that takes less than a minute. First, you need to download InnerMe from a reputable addon source. Once the download is complete, locate your World of Warcraft Interface/AddOns folder. This folder is typically found in your main World of Warcraft directory. Extract the downloaded archive directly into the AddOns folder, making sure the InnerMe folder sits one level deep. After that, restart your game client, and you will see InnerMe listed in your addon list on the character selection screen. Enable it, and you are done.
If you are using the foxygame.net launcher, the process is even simpler. The launcher offers a one-click install for InnerMe, pulling the latest version directly from its addon catalog. This means you do not have to worry about manual extraction or finding the right folder. The launcher also handles auto-updates, so whenever a new version of InnerMe is released, it patches itself without any input from you. That is especially handy if you play across multiple versions of the game.
Compatibility Across World of Warcraft Versions
One of the best things about InnerMe is its broad compatibility. Whether you are playing Retail, Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, or MoP, this addon works flawlessly. The underlying whisper detection logic is simple enough that it does not rely on any modern API changes, making it a reliable companion across all eras of the game. For Classic players who frequently run old-school raids, having InnerMe active means you can finally focus on your healing rotation without constantly tabbing out to check whispers.
The addon's interface is also consistent across all versions. You access the settings window by typing /innerme in chat, or by opening the AddOns compartment menu from your minimap. Everything from the icon size to the sound toggle is managed from this single panel, so there is no learning curve when switching between game versions.
Customizing Your Experience
InnerMe gives you full control over how alerts appear. If you find the default icon too large, simply enter Move icon mode and drag it to a corner of your screen. You can also hide the player name if you prefer a cleaner look, or keep it visible to know exactly who is asking. The auto-hide timer is particularly useful for long raid nights when you do not want persistent icons cluttering your view. Set it to five seconds, and the icon fades away after each request, leaving your screen clear for the next pull.
For those who play with a specific group, the sender filter is a game-changer. You can set InnerMe to react only to your main tank or your raid leader, ignoring random whispers from strangers. This reduces noise and ensures you only see requests from people you actually want to help. And because the trigger text is fully customizable, you can even use it for other purposes, like tracking when someone asks for a battle rez or a specific buff.
