Whether you are a dedicated collector hunting down every last piece of furniture or a decorator crafting immersive spaces, this addon transforms how you interact with Azeroth's housing features.
What Makes HousingCompanion Essential for World of Warcraft
HousingCompanion for World of Warcraft is not just a simple database; it is a full-featured toolkit that integrates seamlessly with the game's interface. It aggregates data from vendors, professions, quests, achievements, and loot drops, giving you a complete picture of every decoration available. The addon is fully compatible with Retail, Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, and MoP versions, ensuring that no matter which era of WoW you call home, your housing journey is supported. From tracking your neighborhood endeavors to managing dye presets, this addon covers every angle of the housing experience.
Key Features That Transform Your Housing Experience
Comprehensive Furniture Database
At the heart of HousingCompanion lies a massive, searchable library of every decoration item in the game. You can instantly see where to obtain each piece — whether it is sold by a vendor for gold or reputation tokens, crafted through professions, rewarded from quests, or dropped by specific mobs and bosses. This database eliminates the guesswork, letting you plan your collection efficiently.
Endeavors and Achievement Tracking
The Endeavors tab gives you a clear overview of your neighborhood initiative progress, including task XP, season progress bars, and a leaderboard. Meanwhile, the Achievement Tracker consolidates all housing-related achievements, showing completion status and criteria details. You can even preview furniture rewards in 3D before you earn them, helping you prioritize which achievements to tackle next.
Vendor Browser and Shopping List
Finding the right vendor is effortless with the Vendor Browser. Filter by zone, expansion, or uncollected items, and see full inventories with prices, reputation requirements, and achievement prerequisites. The integrated Shopping List lets you star items from any vendor or craftable list, track total costs across multiple currencies, and even buy directly when visiting a vendor. Auction House integration means you can search for materials without leaving the addon.
Advanced Housing Tools
HousingCompanion supercharges your decorating workflow with features like a clipboard for copying and pasting decorations, decoration locking to prevent accidental movement, and a HoverHUD that displays hotkey hints. The rotation controls offer precise axis-based adjustments with configurable step sizes, while the Quick Bar gives you instant access to your favorite decorations across nine hotbars. Dye Presets let you save and apply color combinations with a single click, and the Dye Shopping Cart automatically adds missing dyes to your Shopping List.
Item Sets and Recording Mode
Organize your decorations into themed sets like "Kitchen" or "Garden" with custom names and icons. The Recording Mode automatically tracks every decoration you place during a session, adding them to a set in real-time. You can even share your sets with friends via import/export strings, perfect for community collaboration.
Material Tracker and Inventory Management
Never lose track of crafting materials again. Visual indicators appear on housing materials in your bags, bank, and even guild bank, with customizable icons and tooltips showing which decorations require them. The Materials Tab provides a complete overview of all 450+ materials across all your characters, with sortable columns and location filters. It works seamlessly with popular bag addons like Baganator, Bagnon, AdiBags, ArkInventory, and ElvUI.
How to Install HousingCompanion
Getting started with HousingCompanion is straightforward. First, download HousingCompanion from your preferred addon source. Then, extract the folder into your World of Warcraft _retail_/Interface/AddOns directory (or the appropriate folder for Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, or MoP).
