Master Clique: The Ultimate Click-Casting Addon for World of Warcraft

Clique

If you have ever wanted to heal or support your group without the constant hassle of switching targets, Clique for World of Warcraft is the addon that changes everything. It lets you bind spells and macros directly to mouse clicks and keyboard combinations, so you can hover over a unit frame or a character in the 3D world and cast instantly. Whether you are a seasoned raider or leveling through dungeons, Clique streamlines your gameplay and makes every action feel more responsive.

What Makes Clique Essential for Healers and Support

Clique is built around a simple idea: you should not need to click a target and then press a spell. Instead, you assign a spell to a click or key press, and when you perform that action on a unit frame, the spell fires on that unit. This click-casting approach reduces reaction time and frees up your attention for movement and mechanics. The addon works seamlessly with default Blizzard raid frames, party frames, and most popular unit frame replacements, making it a versatile tool for any role that relies on quick friendly or enemy targeting.

Getting Started with Clique

After you download Clique and place it in your AddOns folder, the setup is refreshingly straightforward. Open your spellbook and you will notice a new Clique tab. Click it to access the binding interface, or type /clique in chat to bring up the configuration window. You cannot modify bindings while in combat due to Blizzard API restrictions, so make your adjustments in a safe area. The interface shows all current bindings and lets you add new ones with a single gesture.

How to Install Clique

If you are wondering how to install Clique, the process is the same as any other World of Warcraft addon. First, locate your WoW installation directory, then open the _retail_ or _classic_ folder depending on your version. Inside, find the Interface folder and then AddOns. Extract the Clique folder there, and restart the game. For players who prefer a streamlined experience, the foxygame.net launcher includes Clique in its curated addon catalog, allowing you to install it with one click and keep it automatically updated across Retail, Classic, and Wrath of the Lich King Classic without ever touching a file folder.

Binding Spells and Macros

Binding a spell is intuitive. Open your spellbook, locate the spell you want, and simply perform the click or key combination while hovering over it. For example, to bind Regrowth to Shift-LeftButton, find Regrowth and Shift-LeftClick on it. You can also use keyboard-only bindings like Shift-R. Clique will override any default frame actions, such as targeting or showing the unit menu, so you may need to rebind those essential functions. Use the Bind other button to assign new combinations for Target Unit and Show Unit Menu. This one-time setup takes only seconds and ensures you never lose core functionality.

Important Note for Current Versions

As of recent updates, Blizzard made changes that affected unit frame and click-casting addons. Clique has been fully restored, but you now must explicitly bind the Target unit and Show unit menu actions if you want that functionality. Simply open the Clique configuration, click Bind other, choose the action, and set your preferred click or key combination. This is a quick, one-time adjustment that keeps everything working smoothly across all supported versions, including Retail, Classic, TBC, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, and Mists of Pandaria.

Click-Sets and Profiles for Every Situation

Clique goes beyond simple bindings with its click-set system. Each binding can belong to one or more sets that control when it is active:

• default – always active on registered unit frames unless overridden.
• ooc – only active out of combat, perfect for buffing between pulls.
• friend – triggers only on friendly units.
• enemy – triggers only on enemy units.
• hovercast – works when hovering over any unit frame or 3D world character.
• global – always available but does not auto-target; you must specify the target after the binding.

This flexibility lets you create context-sensitive setups. For instance, you can bind a healing spell to LeftButton in the friend set and a damage spell to the same button in the enemy set, all without changing your action bars. Clique also supports dual talent specialization by automatically switching profiles when you change specs, so your bindings always match your current role.

Compatibility Across World of Warcraft Versions

Clique is actively maintained for the latest Retail patch as well as Classic Era, Burning Crusade Classic, Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Cataclysm Classic, and Mists of Pandaria Classic. The addon’s lightweight design ensures it works alongside popular unit frame addons like ElvUI, Grid2, and VuhDo, though you should always use the appropriate version for your game client. When you download Clique, make sure to grab the correct file for your expansion to avoid load errors.

Troubleshooting and Community Support

If you run into issues, first confirm your Clique version with /dump Clique.version and note which unit frames you are using. Most problems stem from conflicting keybinds or outdated installations. The addon’s Discord server is the best place for real-time help, where the developer and experienced users can quickly diagnose binding conflicts or API changes. Remember that Blizzard occasionally alters the UI backend, which may require a quick rebind of default actions as described earlier.

Why Clique Remains a Must-Have Addon

Clique’s power lies in its simplicity and depth. It removes the extra step of targeting, letting you react faster in raids, battlegrounds, and dungeons. The ability to bind macros opens up even more possibilities, such as combining trinkets with heals or setting up mouseover crowd control. Whether you are a restoration druid, holy paladin, or discipline priest, Clique for World of Warcraft adapts to your playstyle rather than forcing you into a rigid system. The addon’s longevity across multiple expansions proves its reliability, and the active development ensures it stays compatible with Blizzard’s ever-evolving API.

If you are ready to elevate your gameplay, download Clique today and experience the freedom of click-casting. With a few minutes of setup, you will wonder how you ever healed without it.
