ClearAHFavorites: The Fastest Way to Wipe Your Auction House Favorites
Every World of Warcraft player knows the struggle: you have favorited dozens of Auction House listings over months of crafting, flipping, and farming, and now your favorites list is a cluttered mess. Scrolling through outdated entries to find the one item you actually care about is a chore. That is exactly the problem ClearAHFavorites solves, and it solves it in a single click.
ClearAHFavorites is a lightweight quality-of-life addon that removes all of your Auction House favorites at once. No more shift-clicking each star individually. No more accidentally unfavoriting the wrong item. Just open the Auction House, run the slash command or press the button, and your favorites list is wiped clean.
What ClearAHFavorites Actually Does
The concept is simple, and that is its strength. The addon hooks into the Auction House interface and gives you two ways to clear your favorites:
- Slash command: Type /clearahfavorites while the Auction House window is open, and every favorited listing is removed instantly.
- UI button: A dedicated button appears right next to the favorites star in the Auction House UI, so you can clear everything without touching your keyboard.
That is the entire feature set. There are no settings menus to configure, no profiles to manage, and no performance overhead. It does one job and does it well, which is precisely what you want from a utility addon that sits quietly in the background until you need it.
Why a Clean Favorites List Matters
The Auction House favorites system was designed to help you track materials and items you buy or sell regularly. In practice, most players favorite things temporarily, then forget about them. Over a long expansion, that list can grow into a wall of stale entries for items you have not traded in months.
A bloated favorites list slows down your Auction House workflow. You waste time scanning past irrelevant entries, and the star icons become visual noise instead of useful shortcuts. Clearing the list periodically keeps the feature useful rather than frustrating. ClearAHFavorites makes that maintenance step take two seconds instead of two minutes.
Version Compatibility Across World of Warcraft
One of the best things about ClearAHFavorites is how broadly it works. The addon is compatible with every major version of the game that players are actively running:
- Retail (the current live expansion)
- Classic Era
- The Burning Crusade Classic
- Wrath of the Lich King Classic
- Cataclysm Classic
- Mists of Pandaria Classic
Whether you are grinding gold on a fresh Classic server or managing a busy Retail crafting operation, the addon behaves the same way. The Auction House API differences between versions are handled for you, so there is no need to hunt down a separate build for each client.
How to Install ClearAHFavorites
Installation follows the standard addon process, and if you have ever installed a World of Warcraft addon before, you already know the drill:
- Download ClearAHFavorites from your preferred addon source.
- Extract the folder into your World of Warcraft installation directory under Interface/AddOns.
- Make sure the folder name matches exactly and does not contain an extra nested directory.
- Restart the game or type /reload if you are already logged in.
- Confirm the addon appears in your AddOns list on the character selection screen.
If you prefer to skip the manual file shuffling entirely, the foxygame.net launcher offers a genuinely convenient alternative: it maintains a curated addon catalog where ClearAHFavorites is available for one-click installation, and it keeps the addon updated automatically whenever a new version is pushed. That means no more manually checking for updates after every game patch.
Who Should Use This Addon
ClearAHFavorites is not aimed at every player, but the players who need it tend to need it badly. If you fall into any of these categories, it belongs in your addon folder:
- Auction House goblins: If you buy and sell constantly, your favorites list churns fast and needs regular resets.
- Returning players: Coming back after a long break to a favorites list full of last-expansion materials is a common experience.
- Altaholics: Managing favorites across multiple characters gets messy, and a clean slate on each one keeps things sane.
- Minimalists: Anyone who dislikes interface clutter will appreciate a tool that removes it in one action.
A Small Addon With a Real Payoff
It is easy to overlook utility addons in favor of flashy boss mods and damage meters, but the small ones often save the most cumulative time. ClearAHFavorites falls into that category. It will never be the addon you talk about with your guild, but it will quietly spare you from a repetitive clicking task every time your Auction House favorites get out of hand.
If you have been putting off cleaning up your favorites because the manual process is tedious, stop putting it off. Grab ClearAHFavorites, bind the slash command to muscle memory, and enjoy an Auction House interface that stays tidy without any effort on your part.
