BattlePetCageMatch
For dedicated collectors and battle pet enthusiasts in Azeroth, managing a sprawling menagerie can quickly become a logistical nightmare. Whether you are hunting rare spawns in Pandaria or farming specific qualities in the Dragon Isles, keeping track of which creatures are caged, which are learned, and their market value requires precision. This is where BattlePetCageMatch steps in as an indispensable utility. This powerful addon transforms the standard Pet Journal into a command center, offering deep integration with trade tools and automated management features that save hours of manual sorting.
Revolutionizing Pet Journal Management
The core strength of this addon lies in its ability to upgrade the native Pet Journal interface. Upon installation, BattlePetCageMatch immediately begins flagging entries for any pets it detects currently sitting in your bags as caged items. Even more impressively, it can cross-reference data to flag pets detected in other characters' inventories within your account, giving you a holistic view of your collection without needing to log in to every single alt. This feature is particularly vital for players navigating the complex economies of World of Warcraft Retail, where tracking hundreds of species across multiple toons is standard practice.
Integration with TradeSkillMaster (TSM) takes this utility a step further. By pulling pricing data directly into the Pet Journal, you can filter your list based on specific gold values. This allows you to instantly identify high-value targets for the auction house or spot underpriced gems in your own storage. The addon adds a customizable tooltip that appears when you hover over any pet icon, displaying critical stats and price information at a glance.
Automated Caging and Filtering Options
Manual caging is a thing of the past. With BattlePetCageMatch, you can configure automatic caging rules that execute based on a robust set of user-specified options. You can define parameters such as minimum and maximum levels, quality thresholds, and the quantity of pets you already know. For those deeply invested in the economy, filtering by TSM price ensures you only cage pets that meet your profit margins.
The flexibility extends to whitelist and blacklist capabilities. You can manually create a whitelist of specific pets to cage, utilizing wildcards for broad categories, or establish a blacklist to ensure cherished rares are never accidentally sent to the cages. This automation can be triggered via a new icon in the Pet Journal, a custom keybind, or through a broker addon display. When active, the generated list appears in a dedicated window, allowing you to review pet info and remove specific entries from the queue before finalizing the action. If you need to halt the process, pressing the cage button brings up a prompt to stop immediately.
Streamlining Installation and Updates
Getting started with this tool is straightforward for players across various versions of the game, including Classic, TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, MoP, and the modern Retail client. When you look to download BattlePetCageMatch, you will find it compatible with the latest API changes. For users seeking a hassle-free setup, the foxygame.net launcher offers a seamless solution by including BattlePetCageMatch in its extensive addon catalog, allowing for one-click installation and automatic version compatibility checks so you never have to worry about broken interfaces after a game patch.
Understanding how to install the addon manually is also simple: extract the folder into your Interface/AddOns directory and reload the user interface. Once running, head to the System Keybinding menu under the Addons section to set up the "Learn Pet" keybind. Since automatically learning caged pets from the inventory is restricted by the game client, this feature scans your bags and logs caged pets. Pressing the bound key cycles through the list to learn them, smartly skipping any that cannot be learned to ensure the rest of the queue proceeds smoothly.
Advanced Features for Power Users
Beyond basic management, the addon offers mouse-over caging. Once you assign a keybind, simply hovering over a pet in the journal and pressing the key will cage it instantly. This speeds up inventory cleanup significantly during farming sessions. Furthermore, the profile system allows you to maintain different filter settings for different characters or playstyles. If you prefer aggressive selling on one character and conservative collecting on another, custom profiles keep these configurations distinct.
For economy experts, the ability to input custom TSM price strings is a game-changer. Instead of relying on standard market value sources, you can tailor the price filtering logic to match your specific trading strategies. It is worth noting that while the addon is compatible with TSM 4, PetJournal Enhanced, and Rematch, updates to TSM data sources may occasionally require you to re-select your preferred price source in the settings to ensure accurate data display.
In conclusion, BattlePetCageMatch for World of Warcraft is not just a quality-of-life improvement; it is an essential tool for anyone serious about pet battling and collecting. By automating tedious tasks, providing real-time economic data, and offering granular control over your collection, it allows you to focus on what matters most: exploring Azeroth and completing your dex. Whether you are a casual collector or a gold-making mogul, this addon provides the infrastructure needed to manage your digital zoo with professional efficiency.
