AlterEgo
Juggling multiple characters in World of Warcraft can quickly become overwhelming, especially when you push Mythic+ dungeons and raid across several alts. AlterEgo is the addon that brings order to the chaos, giving you a single, customizable dashboard to track every character's progress, keystones, lockouts, and more. Whether you play on Retail, Classic, The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, or Mists of Pandaria, AlterEgo for World of Warcraft keeps you informed without ever needing to log out and check each alt manually.
Why AlterEgo Is a Must-Have for Altaholics
If you have ever forgotten which character still needs a weekly keystone or missed a Great Vault reward because you lost track, AlterEgo solves that problem instantly. The addon scans all your characters across realms and factions, then presents the data in a clean, sortable grid. You can see at a glance each alt's highest Mythic+ rating, the specific dungeon levels per affix, equipped item levels, and even the exact keystone in their bags. This makes planning your weekly runs effortless and ensures no valuable lockout goes to waste.
Comprehensive Tracking Across All Game Versions
AlterEgo is built to support the full spectrum of World of Warcraft experiences. It works flawlessly on Retail, where Mythic+ and the Great Vault are central to progression, but it also shines on Classic era realms, including The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, and Mists of Pandaria. The addon intelligently adapts its tracked data to the expansion you are playing, so you will never see irrelevant information. This cross-version compatibility means you can rely on a single tool no matter which version of the game you call home.
Key Features That Simplify Your Gameplay
AlterEgo packs an impressive array of features into a lightweight addon. Here is what you can expect after you download AlterEgo and set it up:

How to Install AlterEgo
Getting started with AlterEgo is straightforward. If you are wondering how to install the addon, simply download AlterEgo from your preferred World of Warcraft addon repository and extract the folder into your Interface/AddOns directory. Make sure the addon is enabled in the character selection screen, and you are ready to go. For those who prefer a more streamlined experience, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click installation for AlterEgo, automatically placing the addon in the correct folder and keeping it updated with the latest features and bug fixes. This is especially handy if you manage multiple addons and want to avoid manual downloads every patch day.
Customization That Fits Your UI
One of AlterEgo's greatest strengths is its flexibility. The main datagrid can be filtered, sorted, and color-coded to match your personal preferences. You can choose exactly which columns appear, adjust the font size, and even set custom thresholds for highlighting characters that meet certain criteria. This means AlterEgo blends seamlessly into any UI setup, whether you use a minimalistic layout or a full suite of action bar and unit frame addons. The slash commands /alterego or /ae toggle the main window, giving you instant access without cluttering your screen.
Seamless Addon Compatibility
AlterEgo is designed to play nicely with other popular addons. It does not interfere with boss mods, damage meters, or nameplate addons, and it uses very little memory. Because it reads data from the game's own tooltips and character screens, there is no risk of taint or conflicts. Whether you run a heavy addon setup for raiding or keep things light for leveling, AlterEgo for World of Warcraft integrates without a hitch. The addon also respects faction and realm boundaries, so your Horde and Alliance alts are all visible in one unified list.
Community-Driven Development and Support
AlterEgo thrives on player feedback. The developer actively maintains the addon and encourages users to report bugs or suggest features through the official GitHub issue tracker. This approach ensures that every voice is heard and that improvements are shipped regularly. If you encounter an issue or have an idea for a new column or filter, the tracker is the best place to contribute. The addon has also been featured in community spotlights, including a detailed video by content creator Sunshade, which walks through its features and setup.

Managing multiple characters no longer has to be a chore. With AlterEgo, you gain a bird's-eye view of your entire account's endgame progress, from Mythic+ keystones to raid lockouts and Great Vault status.
