Trad FR Custom Ingredients Nov 2023 part 1 Insimnia
If you love adding depth to your Sims' culinary adventures, the Trad FR Custom Ingredients Nov 2023 part 1 Insimnia is a must-have addition to your mods folder. This custom content pack, created by Insimnia and translated into French by a dedicated community member, brings a handful of delicious new ingredients to The Sims 4. While these ingredients are entirely optional, they pair beautifully with the Grocery Haul and recipe mods from November 2023, making your Sims' kitchens feel more alive and realistic.
What’s Inside the Custom Ingredients Pack?
This mod focuses on three specific food items that your Sims can now find, purchase, and cook with. Each one is designed to integrate seamlessly into the base game's cooking system, so you won't need to fiddle with complex settings. Here’s the full list of goodies included:
- Canned Tomatoes and Green Chilies – a pantry staple for hearty dishes.
- Mini Quiches – perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick snack.
- Tortilla Chips – ideal for parties, movie nights, or dipping into salsa.
These ingredients are not just decorative; they are functional items that your Sims can use in recipes. However, to get the most out of them, you will need the required companion mods, which are listed below.
Required Companion Mods and Compatibility
Before you rush to download Trad FR Custom Ingredients Nov 2023 part 1 Insimnia, you need to ensure you have the correct dependencies. The mod creator explicitly states that this pack requires:
- My Grocery Shopping List – this mod adds the shopping list functionality.
- Recipes of November 2023 part 1 – these recipes use the new ingredients.
- My Grocery Shopping Day – optional but highly recommended for a full gameplay loop.
All of these mods are designed for The Sims 4 base game and are compatible with the latest patches as of late 2023. If you are running the Growing Together or Horse Ranch expansion packs, you should have no conflicts, as these custom ingredients operate independently of world-specific features. Always check that your game version is up to date to avoid any script errors.
How to Install the Mod Correctly
Installing this mod is straightforward, but there is a specific order to follow. Many players ask how to install it properly, so here is a step-by-step breakdown to avoid any issues:
- First, download the original mod folder from @Insimnia (the creator) and unzip it using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
- Next, download the French translation file from the Trad FR pack. This is the Trad FR Custom Ingredients Nov 2023 part 1 Insimnia file.
- Open the unzipped Insimnia folder and drag the translation .package or .cfg file directly into it. The translation must be placed inside the same folder as the original mod files.
- Once merged, place the entire folder into your Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods directory.
- Finally, launch the game and enable "Script Mods" and "Custom Content" in your Game Options if you haven't already.
That’s it. The mod will appear in your game as new grocery items available for purchase via the fridge or the grocery shopping list interaction.
Why Use the French Translation?
If you play The Sims 4 in French, the original Insimnia mod is in English. The Trad FR Custom Ingredients Nov 2023 part 1 Insimnia bridges that gap by translating all item names, descriptions, and recipe interactions into French. This makes the mod feel native to your game, avoiding the jarring mix of languages that often occurs with custom content. Even if you are bilingual, the translation is clean and professional, matching the game's official tone.
Gameplay Tips and Usage Ideas
Once installed, you can start using these ingredients immediately. Here are a few ways to incorporate them into your Sims' lives:
- Host a Mexican-themed dinner party and serve tortilla chips with homemade salsa.
- Prepare a batch of mini quiches for a family breakfast before work and school.
- Stock your pantry with canned tomatoes and green chilies to always have a base for stews or chili.
The optional My Grocery Shopping Day mod adds a fun layer where your Sims physically go to the store, making the shopping trip feel more immersive. Combine that with the shopping list, and you have a complete grocery simulation experience that vanilla The Sims 4 lacks.
For players who prefer a streamlined experience, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click install feature that automatically places the Trad FR Custom Ingredients Nov 2023 part 1 Insimnia into the correct Mods folder, eliminating the manual unzipping and folder merging steps. The launcher also maintains a catalog of compatible add-ons, so you can easily track which versions of Insimnia's mods you have installed and update them when new patches arrive.
