TapeiGuanas - Household Kusakabe
There is something irresistible about recreating beloved animated families inside The Sims 4, and few households capture that cozy, nostalgic feeling quite like the Kusakabe family. Inspired by the classic cartoon My Neighbor Totoro, this charming four-person household brings warmth, personality, and a touch of rural Japanese charm straight into your game. If you have been searching for a ready-made family that feels alive from the very first moment you load the save, this is exactly the kind of creation worth adding to your library.
Who Lives in the Kusakabe Household?
The TapeiGuanas - Household Kusakabe pack delivers a complete family of four, each member carefully built with distinct traits that mirror their personalities from the film. The creator, known in-game as TapeiGuanas, clearly put thought into making every Sim feel authentic rather than generic.
- Tatsuo Kusakabe — the father of the family, respectful, a genius, and a bookworm who fits perfectly into a scholarly, studious playstyle.
- Yatsuka Kusakabe — the mother, respectful, neat, and skilled, making her an excellent homemaker and crafter.
- Satsuki Kusakabe — the older sister, a neat girl who takes responsibility and looks after the household.
- Mei Kusakabe — the younger sister, inquisitive and endlessly curious, always exploring everything around her.
Together they form a balanced, playable family that works well for storytelling, legacy challenges, or simply a relaxed slice-of-life save. The mix of traits means you get natural chemistry between parents and children without needing to micromanage every interaction.
Mt. Komorebi and the Wakaba Connection
The household is placed in Mt. Komorebi, specifically at the Wakaba lot (2-4-2 Wakabamori). This snowy, Japanese-inspired world is the perfect backdrop for a Totoro-themed family, with its quiet neighborhoods, hot springs, and mountainous scenery. Setting the Kusakabes up here immediately gives your save a storybook atmosphere that matches the spirit of the original cartoon.
Because the build and household are entirely No CC, you will not need to hunt down custom content packs to make everything appear correctly. That makes this download especially friendly for players who prefer to keep their game clean and stable.
Version Support and Mod Compatibility
This household works with the base game plus the Snowy Escape expansion, since Mt. Komorebi is part of that pack. It has been tested across recent The Sims 4 patches, and because it uses no custom content, it remains broadly compatible with most modern game versions. If you run a heavily modded setup, the absence of CC means fewer conflicts and far less risk of broken assets appearing as missing items. Just make sure your game is updated to a recent patch before importing the family, and everything should load smoothly.
For players who want a frictionless setup, the foxygame.net launcher streamlines the whole process by offering a curated add-on catalog where TapeiGuanas - Household Kusakabe sits alongside other community creations ready for one-click installation. That means no manual folder digging and no guesswork about where files belong.
How to Install the Household
Getting the family into your game is straightforward once you know where the files go. Follow these steps to download TapeiGuanas - Household Kusakabe and place it correctly.

- Locate your The Sims 4 Tray folder, found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray.
