Social Events - Guest Control & Let's Do Activities

Hosting a party in The Sims 4 can quickly turn into chaos. Guests wander off, eat nothing, dance to the wrong music, or stand idle while the bartender slacks off. The Social Events - Guest Control & Let's Do Activities add-on puts you firmly in the director's chair, giving you granular control over NPC autonomy, stats, and social behaviors during every gathering. Whether you're throwing a wedding, a house party, or a birthday bash, this mod transforms passive guests into active participants who follow your every command.

What Does This Add-On Do?

This mod delivers two core functions: powerful guest management tools and a suite of "Let's Do Activities" commands. It works seamlessly with base game social events and most modded ones, provided the creator has the appropriate tags. The add-on doesn't override any in-game resources, making it highly unlikely to conflict with other mods. It requires only the Base Game XML Injector to function.

Social Group: Unlimited Sims, Endless Possibilities

The standout feature is the Social Group, which operates like a regular group but with no size limit. Click on your Sim, choose "Add Sims to Social Group," and a Sim Picker opens with all lot occupants pre-selected. You can rally the entire crowd to "Go Here Together" or "Dance Together." This also serves as a workaround for ordering drinks for multiple Sims at once—just click the bar and select "Order Drinks for Group." Keep in mind the bartending Sim can't be in the same group or the interaction won't fire.

You can add or remove Sims from the group by clicking on them directly. If you start a club gathering, the social group auto-disbands. You can also manually disband it by clicking on any group member. The social group works outside social events too, functioning like a regular group for everyday outings.

Let's Do Activities: Rally the Troops

These interactions don't require an active social group and are always available:

  • Call Over Multiple Sims: Click the ground to open a Sim Picker with all lot Sims pre-selected. Choose as many as you want, and they'll gather at that spot. The interaction triggers immediately when queued.
  • Let's Eat!!!: Click a dining table, kitchen counter, or banquet table with food. Hosts and guests are called to grab a serving. This also removes the "No Eating" effect and reduces hunger to -20, making Sims more likely to eat.
  • Let's Dance!!!: Click a stereo, dancing floor, or DJ booth. Sims move nearby and start dancing. This removes the "No Dancing" effect. Ensure the music is on and the genre is danceable—classical won't cut it.
  • Ask to Tend Bar: Click a bar to open a Sim Picker showing all Sims with at least level 3 Mixology. Useful if the hired bartender is slacking or tending the wrong bar. Doesn't work on Sims in your Social Group.
  • Ask to Perform: Click a violin, guitar, piano, keyboard, or pipe organ to select an entertainer. Works best with violins, less reliably with guitars.
  • Ask to Stop Playing Music: Click a Sim playing an instrument to silence them.
  • Ask to Leave: Click an NPC Sim at your party to politely (or not so politely) send them home.

Manage Guest Autonomy and Stats

The "Better Social Events" lot challenge adds a settings menu when clicking on a door. These settings take effect when hosts and guests enter the lot, so configure them before your guests arrive. For The Sims 4 players using the latest expansion packs, the mod has been updated to work with getaway events from the Adventure Awaits EP.

Autonomy Controls

Disable or re-enable specific autonomous behaviors for 6 hours by default:

  • No PC: Blocks autonomy for computers and tablets, including pack-specific interactions.
  • No Easel: Stops autonomous painting.
  • No Reading: Prevents Sims from picking up books.
  • No Gym Equipment: Covers treadmills, weight benches, punching bags, climbing walls, yoga mats, and archery.
  • No Swimming: Blocks swimming, pool sitting, jumping in, hot tubs, and waterslides.
  • No Eating: Prevents eating and locks hunger at max to avoid starvation.
  • No Cooking: Stops all cooking, baking, grilling, and ice cream making.
  • No Bar-tending: Blocks drink preparation.
  • No Dancing: Stops autonomous dancing.
  • No Musical Instruments: Prevents instrument use.

Stats and NPC Controls

Disable needs decay for 3 hours during events (hygiene, energy, etc.). NPC controls include "Ask to Leave" via a Sim Picker, random NPC buffs (angry, sad, flirty) that can be removed on arrival, and Paparazzi auto-removal.

Settings can be applied immediately to household Sims via the door interaction, even outside social events. You can also access Autonomy and Stats Controls by clicking the ground or any Sim during an event—these take effect instantly and last 3 hours, perfect for longer parties.

Social Controls

Click the ground during social events to adjust a Sim's sociability, meanness, mischief, or romance levels for 3 hours. The "more mean" option even lets Good or Good Manners trait Sims perform mean interactions, which the vanilla game normally blocks. Clicking a specific Sim offers options to encourage or discourage interactions with others for 90 minutes. All effects clear when Sims leave the lot.

Compatibility and Installation

This add-on works with most vanilla social events and modded ones with proper tags. It doesn't override game resources, so conflicts are unlikely. For a seamless experience, the foxygame.net launcher offers one-click install for Social Events - Guest Control & Let's Do Activities, automatically handling version compatibility checks so you never worry about mismatched game updates. The launcher's add-on catalog also tracks the latest patch notes, ensuring your mod stays current. To install manually, place the mod files in your Mods folder and ensure the XML Injector is installed. Always check the changelog for the latest fixes—recent updates include DJs no longer being called to dance while working and improved gym equipment coverage.
