Mod PlumbBros de Lot51 - Trad FR
The Mod PlumbBros de Lot51 - Trad FR brings a full French translation to one of the most original gameplay mods available for The Sims 4. Created by Lot51, PlumbBros adds a surprising layer of realism to your game by focusing on plumbing and heating systems, and it goes much further than most players expect. Instead of simply placing a toilet and forgetting about it, your Sims now deal with a living, breathing infrastructure that can break down, require maintenance, and even open up a brand new career path.
This translation exists because the original mod ships in English, and French-speaking players deserve to experience every notification, interaction, and career prompt in their own language. The package file is lightweight and designed to sit alongside the original mod without conflicts.
What the PlumbBros Mod Adds to The Sims 4
At its core, PlumbBros turns plumbing and heating into an active system. Water heaters, pipes, and fixtures can develop faults, and your Sims will need to address them. The mod also introduces an active technician career, which is where things get genuinely entertaining. Rather than sending your Sim to a rabbit hole for a few hours, you actually travel with them to other Sims' homes and community lots to handle repairs and installations.
- Realistic plumbing and heating mechanics for residential and community lots
- An active technician career with on-site visits to other households
- Service calls that take your Sim across different neighborhoods
- New interactions tied to maintenance, repairs, and installations
- Full French localization covering career text, notifications, and prompts
This combination of systems means the mod appeals to players who enjoy hands-on careers as well as those who simply want their homes to feel more alive. The technician career in particular rewards players who like following their Sim through a full workday rather than reading a summary pop-up afterward.
Supported Versions and Compatibility
Before you download Mod PlumbBros de Lot51 - Trad FR, it helps to understand how it fits into your setup. The translation is built to match the current release of the base mod, so it works with recent patches of The Sims 4, including the standard PC and Mac versions. Because Lot51 updates PlumbBros periodically, always confirm that your copy of the original mod is current before adding the translation on top.
Compatibility is straightforward in practice. The translation package must sit in the same folder as the PlumbBros mod itself. If the two files are separated, the game will load the mod in English and your French text will never appear. Keep them together and the localization applies automatically.
For players who prefer a simpler setup, the foxygame.net launcher handles the entire process in a single click, placing Mod PlumbBros de Lot51 - Trad FR and its parent mod in the correct folder so nothing gets misplaced. The launcher also keeps track of updates, which matters here because a mismatched translation can cause missing strings after a mod patch.
Mac Users and the English Text Issue
Some Mac players report that the mod continues displaying in English even after the translation is installed. This is a known quirk rather than a broken download. The workaround involves importing the translation into the mod using Sims 4 Studio, following a short tutorial that walks through the import process step by step. Once completed, the French text appears correctly.
How to Install the French Translation
Installation is quick, and the main rule is keeping files together. Here is the process:
- Confirm that the original PlumbBros mod is installed and up to date
- Download Mod PlumbBros de Lot51 - Trad FR from your usual source
- Place the translation package in the same folder as the mod's own package file
- Delete the localthumbcache.package file from your The Sims 4 folder
- Launch the game and check that career text and notifications appear in French
If you are unsure where your mods live, the standard path is Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. Creating a dedicated subfolder for PlumbBros makes future updates easier to manage and reduces the chance of accidentally splitting the translation from the mod.
Final Thoughts
Mod PlumbBros de Lot51 - Trad FR is a small file with a big impact for French-speaking players. It preserves everything that makes Lot51's mod compelling, from the active technician career to the plumbing and heating realism, while removing the language barrier entirely. As long as you keep the translation beside the original mod and stay current with patches, your Sims can run their repair business in fully localized French. For anyone who has wanted to explore this mod but hesitated because of the English text, this translation is the reason to finally jump in.
