Other Mods - Change Into Towel Everywhere 30 Minutes Version
In The Sims 4, the little details often make the biggest difference in immersion. One of the most charming yet fleeting moments happens after a shower at the gym or spa, where Sims wrap themselves in a fluffy towel before changing back into their everyday clothes. The problem is that this behavior is limited to specific lots and lasts only a few minutes. The Other Mods - Change Into Towel Everywhere 30 Minutes Version solves this by bringing that cozy, realistic post-shower experience to every residential lot and venue type, while extending the towel-wearing duration to a full half-hour.
What Does This Mod Do?
Originally created by Shimrod101 on Mod the Sims, this updated version has been maintained and re-uploaded for the community. It takes the vanilla game logic—where Sims exiting a shower at a Gym or Spa Day venue wear a towel for a short time—and applies it universally. Now, whether your Sim is at home, a nightclub, a library, or a friend's apartment, they will automatically change into a towel after bathing. The key change is the duration: Sims will wear the towel for around 30 minutes before switching back to their normal clothing, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the humorous and realistic interactions that follow.
Key Features at a Glance
- Works on Residential lots and all other venue types, not just Gyms and Spas.
- Sims wear the towel for approximately 30 minutes instead of the default few minutes.
- Includes an optional addon that affects the "Take Bath" and "Take Bubble Bath" interactions.
- Compatible with the base game and most expansion packs, as it modifies core shower/bath interactions.
- Two versions available: this 30-minute version and a 60-minute version. Only install one version at a time.
Why Choose the 30-Minute Version?
The 30-minute duration strikes a perfect balance between realism and gameplay pacing. A 60-minute towel session might feel excessive if you're trying to rush your Sim out the door for work or a social event. On the other hand, the vanilla few minutes often end before you even notice the towel. With this mod, you have enough time to send your Sim to grab a snack, watch TV, or chat with family members while still in a towel, adding a layer of comedic and domestic realism to your storytelling.
Optional Addon: Bath Interactions
If you want to expand the functionality, the optional addon ensures that taking a bath or a bubble bath also triggers the towel-wearing behavior. This is perfect for Sims who prefer a relaxing soak over a quick shower. Simply download the addon file alongside the main mod to enable this feature. Remember, you cannot mix the 30-minute and 60-minute versions, so choose the duration that best fits your playstyle before downloading.
Mod Compatibility and Supported Versions
This mod is designed to work with the latest patches of The Sims 4, including the base game and all recent expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs. Since it modifies the shower and bath interaction tuning, it is generally safe to use with other mods that do not touch the same XML resources. However, if you use other shower-related mods, you may encounter conflicts. Always test new mods in a separate save file to ensure everything works smoothly. The mod was created using tools like s4pe and the Sims 4 XML Extractor, ensuring clean and stable code.
How to Install
Installing this mod is straightforward. First, download the main file from the mod's page. If you want the bath addon, download that as well. Next, locate your The Sims 4 mods folder, which is typically found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. Extract the downloaded files (if they are in a ZIP or RAR archive) and place the .package files directly into the Mods folder. Do not place them too deep in subfolders, as the game may not read them correctly. Finally, launch the game, go to Game Options > Other, and enable "Script Mods" and "Custom Content and Mods" if you haven't already. Restart the game, and the mod will be active.
For those who prefer a more streamlined approach, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click installation for Other Mods - Change Into Towel Everywhere 30 Minutes Version, automatically placing files in the correct directory and checking for version compatibility with your current game build. This is especially handy if you manage many add-ons and want to avoid manual file placement errors.
Downloading and Managing the Mod
When you are ready to download Other Mods - Change Into Towel Everywhere 30 Minutes Version, make sure you are getting the correct file. The download page clearly labels the 30-minute version, so double-check before installing. If you later decide you want the longer 60-minute duration, you must remove the 30-minute files from your Mods folder first to prevent conflicts. The mod's creator also offers support through their Discord server, where you can ask questions or report issues.
Keeping your mods organized is essential for a smooth gaming experience.
