LittleMsSam Buy a better Mattress (Better Energy/Comfort on Beds) / translation spanish by Monisims
Is your Sim waking up groggy, irritable, and staring at the ceiling with a sore back? The base game beds in The Sims 4 often leave much to be desired, especially for Sims who are just starting out. That is where the brilliant modding community steps in. Today, we are diving deep into a fantastic add-on that changes the sleep game entirely: the LittleMsSam Buy a better Mattress (Better Energy/Comfort on Beds) / translation spanish by Monisims. This mod adds a layer of realism and strategy to your Sims' sleeping arrangements, allowing them to upgrade their bedding without buying a whole new bed frame.
What Does This Mod Do?
The core concept is simple yet transformative. Instead of shelling out thousands of Simoleons for a brand-new bed, your Sims can now purchase a better mattress for the bed they already own. This interaction is available on most beds in the game, with a few exceptions. You will not find this option on Camping AirBeds, Camping Cots, or the Police Cell Bed, as those are meant to be temporary or restrictive sleeping options.
Here is how it works in practice. Once you click on a bed, you will see a new interaction labeled "Buy a Better Mattress." This interaction is available to Sims who are at least Teenagers. The cost is reasonable and scales with the bed size:
- Toddler Beds: 500 Simoleons
- Single Beds: 750 Simoleons
- Double Beds: 1,000 Simoleons
Mattress Wear and Tear
This mod introduces a "Better Mattress" statistic to the bed. This is not a permanent upgrade; the mattress will eventually become "used" after your Sim has slept or napped on it around 50 times. When it is time for a replacement, you will receive a notification in the corner of your screen. This adds a subtle upkeep mechanic that mirrors real life, encouraging you to keep an eye on your Sims' comfort levels.
Key Benefits: Energy and Comfort
The primary benefit of buying a better mattress is the significant boost to your Sim's energy restoration. The Energy Motive will fill up much faster, meaning your Sim can get a full night's rest in less time and head out to work or school refreshed. This is a huge time-saver for busy households.
Furthermore, the mod applies a positive buff that prevents the dreaded "Uncomfortable Sleep" moodlet. This negative buff is commonly triggered by low-quality beds, and it can ruin a Sim's mood for hours after waking up. By using this mod, you can ensure your Sims wake up happy, comfortable, and ready to take on the day. The combination of faster energy recovery and a positive mood is a game-changer for gameplay efficiency.
Discounts and Special Interactions
The mod also cleverly integrates with the game's calendar and university systems. During Discount Days, which are holidays from the Seasons expansion pack, the cost of a new mattress is reduced by 40%. This makes it the perfect time to upgrade your home's bedding.
Additionally, University Students living in Dorms receive a massive 100% discount. This is a fantastic quality-of-life feature for students who are often strapped for cash, allowing them to enjoy a comfortable sleep without worrying about their budget.
