If your Sims are tired of the same old grilled cheese and garden salad, it is time to elevate their culinary game. The Gourmet Burger Set transforms the standard cooking experience into a full-scale burger workshop, introducing ten unique burger recipes, a portable burger box, and a dedicated ingredient box. This add-on is a must-have for players who love detailed crafting mechanics, restaurant management, or simply want to feed their Sims something spectacular. From classic beef and bacon to adventurous halloumi and mushroom, this set brings a new level of depth to home cooking and dining out.
What Does the Gourmet Burger Set Add?
This comprehensive mod is split into three core components, each designed to work seamlessly with the base game. You will find new interactive objects, a multi-step crafting process, and a wealth of recipe variations that cater to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Sims.
1. Ten Custom Burger Recipes
The heart of this set is the creation of ten distinct burgers. The process is more involved than standard meals, requiring you to bake buns, make patties, and then combine them on a grill or stove. This adds a rewarding sense of accomplishment to every meal.
Here is the full list of burgers you can create, broken down by type:
Non-Veg Burgers
- Chicken and Cheddar Burger: Chicken Patty, Brioche Bun, BBQ Sauce, any Cheese, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 3).
- Beef and Bacon Burger: Beef Patty, Plain Bun, BBQ Sauce, any Cheese (Homestyle Skill 3).
- Lamb and Egg Burger: Lamb Patty, Sesame Bun, Garlic Sauce, Egg, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 6).
- Pork and Pickle Burger: Pork Patty, Pretzel Bun, Green Chili Sauce, any Cheese, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 4).
- Salmon and Avocado Burger: Salmon Patty, Black Bun, Soya Sauce, Avocado, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 7).
Veg Burgers
- Blackbean and Onion Burger: Blackbean Patty, Plain Bun, Garlic Sauce, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 4).
- Mushroom and Cheese Burger: Mushroom Patty, Sesame Bun, Honey Lemon Sauce, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 5).
- Tofu and Pineapple Burger: Tofu Patty, Black Bun, Soya Sauce, Pineapple (Homestyle Skill 6).
- Eggplant and Pickle Burger: Eggplant Patty, Brioche Bun, Marinara Sauce, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 5).
- Halloumi and Mushroom Burger: Halloumi Patty, Mushroom Patty, Pretzel Bun, Lemon Sauce, any Veggie (Homestyle Skill 7).
While the recipes call for specific ingredients, the mod is forgiving. Your Sims can still cook these burgers even if they lack the required custom items, as the custom ingredients are optional. This ensures the Gourmet Burger Set for The Sims 4 is accessible regardless of your Sim's inventory or garden yield.
2. The Gourmet Burger Box
Found under Appliances > Small, the Gourmet Burger Box is a portable storage solution priced at 50 simoleons. It comes preset with 10 burgers and offers unique interactions. Your Sim can "Check Box Contents" to see what is inside, then "Grab Burgers" to take one of three selected burgers to eat. Once three burgers are grabbed, the "Clean Up" interaction becomes available. This is perfect for picnics, camping trips, or just storing a quick meal for a busy Sim.
3. Burger Essentials Ingredient Box
Also located under Appliances > Small, this 50 simoleon box provides the "Open" interaction. When opened, it yields assorted ingredients like buns, patties, and sauces, giving your Sims the essentials to start their burger crafting journey without needing to source every item individually.
How to Install and Version Compatibility
Before you download Gourmet Burger Set, it is crucial to understand the technical requirements. This mod requires the Custom Food Objects / Custom Food Interactions_Latestversion to function for most recipes, with the exception of the Air Fryer burgers. It is fully compatible with the base game and has been tested on PC version 1.91.186.1030 and Mac version 1.91.186.1230.
The mod is designed to avoid conflicts with other mods, but you should always ensure you have the latest version of the required dependencies. For those using the foxygame.net launcher, the process is streamlined; the launcher automatically detects version compatibility for the Gourmet Burger Set, ensuring you have the correct files to avoid crashes or missing interactions. Furthermore, the launcher's add-on catalog allows you to download Gourmet Burger Set with a single click, eliminating the hassle of manual file placement and making it easier than ever to keep your mods updated.
How to Install the Mod Manually
If you prefer a manual approach, the installation is straightforward. First, download Gourmet Burger Set and extract the files. Place the .package and .ts4script files into your Mods folder, which is typically found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Ensure that "Script Mods" are enabled in your Game Options under "Other." After restarting the game, the new recipes and objects should appear.
Cooking Steps and Interactions
The crafting process is a highlight of this mod. To make a burger, your Sim must first bake the buns using a stove or fridge, then create the patty using a Patty Maker. Finally, they can craft the burger using an Outdoor Grill, Countertop Grill, Air Fryer, or Stove. The menus integrate directly into the Custom Food Menu on the fridge and stove, as well as the grill menus, making it easy to find your new recipes.
This set is also compatible with the Dine Out game pack, allowing you to add these gourmet creations to your restaurant menu under "Mains." Furthermore, it supports various gameplay styles, including Cottage Living, Group Cooking, Simple Living Challenge, and Snowy Escape. Toddlers can eat these burgers, and pets with the Glutton trait can interact with them too. You can even pack them into sack lunches with the Parenthood pack.
