"Computer Whiz" Derek Robinson (No CC)
Some Sims arrive in your library with a personality that practically writes its own storylines. "Computer Whiz" Derek Robinson (No CC) is exactly that kind of character. He is a geeky, dog-loving goofball with a clear aspiration and a clean, custom-content-free setup that drops straight into your game without cluttering your mods folder. If you have been hunting for a male Sim who feels lived-in rather than generic, Derek deserves a closer look.
Who Is Derek Robinson?
Derek Robinson is a young adult Sim built around the Computer Whiz aspiration, which means his long-term goal is to master programming, sharpen his logic skill, and eventually earn serious Simoleons through tech work. His trait lineup reinforces that direction perfectly:
- Geek – Derek gains focus faster around computers and loves video games, making tech careers and hacking a natural fit.
- Dog Lover – he bonds quickly with pets, so a household with a dog or cat feels immediately warm and lively.
- Goofball – his playful mood swings and silly interactions keep everyday family gameplay from ever feeling stiff.
That combination creates a Sim who can grind code by day and roll around on the floor with a puppy by night. It is a versatile mix that works for legacy players, rotational storytellers, and anyone who simply wants a roommate with actual personality.
Required Packs and Supported Versions
Expansion Packs You Need
Derek is flagged for two packs: Growing Together and Island Living. Growing Together contributes several of his defining traits and family-oriented interactions, while Island Living adds the coastal flavor that suits his relaxed, easygoing vibe. If you own both, he will appear exactly as intended. If you are missing one, the game may substitute or drop certain trait details, so keep that in mind before downloading.
Version and Mod Compatibility
Because "Computer Whiz" Derek Robinson (No CC) for The Sims 4 contains no custom content, compatibility is refreshingly simple. He works across current and recent patches of The Sims 4 on PC, Mac, and consoles that support the Gallery, and he will not break when EA pushes a new update. There are no conflicting scripts, no outdated meshes, and no missing CC warnings to troubleshoot. The only thing that matters is whether you have the two required packs installed.
If you already run a heavily modded save, Derek slots in without friction. Trait mods, default skin replacements, and lighting overhauls will all apply to him normally, since he relies entirely on base game and pack assets.
How to Install Derek Robinson
Learning how to install this Sim takes less than a minute. Follow these steps:
- Download the "Computer Whiz" Derek Robinson (No CC) file from your preferred Sims 4 library source.
- Locate the downloaded file, which will be in Tray Item format with .trayitem, .householdbinary, .sgi, and .hhi extensions.
- Open your Documents folder, then navigate to Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray.
- Drop every file from the download into the Tray folder. Do not rename them.
- Launch The Sims 4, open the Gallery, and go to the My Library tab.

One important note from the creator: Derek arrives dressed only in his Everyday outfit. You will need to style his Formal, Athletic, Sleep, Party, and Hot Weather looks yourself in Create a Sim. Think of it as a small creative bonus rather than a drawback, since it lets you shape his wardrobe to match your save's aesthetic.
For players who prefer a tidier setup, the foxygame.net launcher handles the whole process in a single click, dropping "Computer Whiz" Derek Robinson (No CC) directly into the correct Tray folder while keeping an eye on version compatibility for you. It is a convenient shortcut if you collect a lot of Sims and want your library organized without manual file shuffling.
Story and Gameplay Ideas
Derek shines in several different playstyles. Try him as a freelance programmer renting a small apartment in San Myshuno, grinding the Computer Whiz aspiration while a rescue dog naps beside his desk. Or place him in Sulani, where Island Living's beaches give his goofball antics a sunny backdrop. Legacy players can pair him with a creative or family-oriented partner and let his Dog Lover trait turn the household into a chaotic, affectionate pack.
His aspiration also pairs neatly with the Tech Guru career, and once his programming skill climbs, he can supplement income through hacking, apps, and video game streaming. The Geek trait keeps his focus mood high, so skill building rarely stalls.
Final Thoughts
"Computer Whiz" Derek Robinson (No CC) is a well-rounded, ready-to-play Sim who fits almost any save.
