Caspian Seaborn, Sulani Merman Townie!
Sulani is a beautiful world filled with sun, sand, and ocean waves, but for players who love the supernatural side of The Sims 4, there is one glaring problem: the mermaid population is tiny. With only four mermaid townies in the entire game, the vibrant underwater community feels a bit empty. That is exactly why the Caspian Seaborn, Sulani Merman Townie! add-on exists. This custom Sim brings a fresh, charming face to your island paradise and gives your saves a much-needed splash of merfolk personality.
Who Is Caspian Seaborn?
Caspian Seaborn is a young adult merman created for players who want a ready-made, lore-friendly character to drop straight into their game. He is a genius, cheerful, and creative Sim, which makes him a delightful addition to any household. His aspiration is Musical Genius, so you can expect him to spend plenty of time strumming a guitar or tickling the ivories when he is not gliding through the ocean.
One of the smartest design choices here is that Caspian comes with no assigned likes or dislikes. That means you get to decide what he loves and hates as you play, discovering his personality organically instead of inheriting someone else's headcanon. The creator also made a point of leaving fitness neutral, which is a clever move. Mermaids swim constantly whether they enjoy it or not, so a Sim who actively dislikes fitness ends up miserable and grumpy despite all that time in the water. Caspian avoids that trap entirely.
What You Need Before You Download
Before you rush off to grab this Sim, there are a couple of requirements worth knowing. Caspian requires the Island Living expansion pack, since mermaids and the Sulani world are tied directly to that content. Without it, the Sim simply will not function the way he is meant to.
The good news is that he requires no custom content whatsoever. Every outfit, hairstyle, and accessory is drawn from official game assets, so you will not have to hunt down broken CC links or worry about missing meshes. He is also fully dressed for all occasions, covering everyday, formal, athletic, sleep, party, and hot weather categories, so he is ready to go the moment he appears in your game.
Version and Mod Compatibility
Because Caspian is a Tray-based Sim and not a script mod, he is broadly compatible with The Sims 4 across recent patches, including the base game updates that arrived alongside expansions like Growing Together, Horse Ranch, For Rent, and Lovestruck. As long as your game is updated to a reasonably current version and Island Living is installed, he should load without issues. He also plays nicely alongside most other mods, since he does not touch game code, only adds a household to your gallery.
If you prefer a smoother setup, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click install that drops Caspian Seaborn, Sulani Merman Townie! directly into your Tray folder, so you can skip the manual unzipping dance entirely. The launcher also keeps an organized catalog of add-ons, making it easy to track future mermaid townies as the collection grows.
How to Install Caspian Seaborn, Sulani Merman Townie!
Installing this Sim is refreshingly simple. Follow these steps and you will be swimming with Caspian in no time.
- Download Caspian Seaborn, Sulani Merman Townie! and unzip the files. You should see a set of .trayitem, .householdbinary, and related package files.
- Open your Documents folder, then navigate to Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray.
- Place all the unzipped files directly into the Tray folder. Do not create subfolders.
- Launch The Sims 4 and open the Gallery.
- Search for Caspian in your library, then either place him into a new save through Create A Sim or merge him into an existing household.
That is the entire process. There is no need to enable mods or script settings, since Tray files work independently of the mods folder.
Why Add Another Merman to Sulani?
The base game only ships with four mermaid townies, which is a surprisingly small number for a world so defined by its ocean culture. If you enjoy rotational play, legacy challenges, or simply populating Sulani with interesting faces, that shortage becomes obvious fast. Caspian Seaborn helps fill that gap with a Sim who feels intentional rather than random, complete with a clear personality direction and a musical aspiration that gives him goals to chase.
He is also a great choice for players who want a merman love interest, a roommate for an existing occult household, or a new protagonist for an island-based rags-to-riches story. Because his likes and dislikes are blank, he adapts to whatever narrative you build around him.
Final Thoughts
Caspian Seaborn, Sulani Merman Townie! for The Sims 4 is a polished, CC-free addition that solves a real gap in the game's mermaid roster. With his cheerful, genius, and creative traits, his Musical Genius aspiration, and his complete wardrobe, he is ready to move into Sulani the moment you install him. Whether you are expanding your occult population or just want a charming new face in your save, Caspian is well worth the download. Grab him, follow the simple Tray folder steps, and let the underwater adventures begin.
