The visual design is crisp and festive, ensuring that your party table looks as good as the treats taste.
Key Features at a Glance
- Serving Size: Each cake provides 8 to 12 servings, perfect for a medium-sized gathering.
- Baking Skill Integration: The recipes are tied to your Sim's Baking Skill, offering a progressive challenge.
- Dietary Reactions: Sims with the Lactose Intolerance trait will have a negative reaction to the dairy ingredients, adding a layer of realism and potential party drama.
- Restaurant Compatibility: You can place these treats on the menu of your own restaurant if you own the Dine Out expansion, allowing your patrons to enjoy the fun.
- Themed Buffs: Eating a slice grants a unique moodlet, either a "Pink Surprise" or "Blue Surprise" buff, which enhances your Sim's mood and adds to the party atmosphere.
Understanding the Two Versions: EA vs. Custom
To ensure the best performance, the creator has split the download into two distinct versions. You must choose only one, based on your existing mod setup. This is crucial for avoiding conflicts and ensuring the baking process works without errors. The choice comes down to whether you use specific realism mods in your game.
Which Version Should You Download?
- EA Version: Choose this if you play without the Realistic Cooking Mod and/or the SimCity Cooking Overhaul (SCCO). This version uses the standard EA baking system.
- Custom Version: Select this if you are playing with the Realistic Cooking Mod and/or SCCO. This version is patched to be compatible with those specific mods, ensuring that ingredient requirements and cooking steps align correctly.
Remember, the ingredients listed in the recipe are optional. You can choose to bake with or without them, which will slightly alter the buffs your Sims receive. This flexibility allows you to tailor the difficulty and realism to your personal preference.
Requirements and Compatibility for The Sims 4
Before you download, you need to ensure your game is up to date. This add-on requires the Get to Work expansion pack, as it utilizes the baking skill and the ability to open a retail business or restaurant. Additionally, you must have the latest version of the Cookbook S&S mod installed, as this add-on depends on its core framework to function correctly. The creator recently updated the mod on 09/07/25 to fix texture issues, so make sure you grab the most recent file.
When you are ready to enhance your game, you can easily download Cakes and cupcakes for the Gender Party from the community hub. The installation process is straightforward, but it is essential to follow the instructions carefully. To ensure you get the right file, always verify the mod compatibility with your current game version before adding it to your Mods folder. For those who prefer a streamlined experience, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click install for Cakes and cupcakes for the Gender Party, automatically placing the correct files into your game directory and checking for version compatibility. This saves you the hassle of manually sorting through folders and ensures you never miss a critical update.
How to Install the Add-On
If you are new to modding, don't worry. The process is simple. First, extract the downloaded archive file. You will find the package files and possibly a script file inside. Place these directly into your Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. Make sure you do not place the files too deep into subfolders, as the game may not read them correctly. Once the files are in place, launch the game and go to Game Options > Other to enable the "Script Mods" feature if you haven't already. After restarting the game, the new recipes will appear in your Sim's baking menu.
For a more hands-off approach, the foxygame.net launcher can manage the entire process for you. It maintains a catalog of add-ons and will automatically update Cakes and cupcakes for the Gender Party to the latest version, ensuring you always have the most stable build. This is particularly useful if you frequently update your other mods, as it helps prevent conflicts and keeps your game running smoothly. With auto-updates enabled, you can focus on playing rather than managing your mod folder.
