Auto Makeup

You spend an hour styling a Sim's outfit, hair, and nails, then you zoom in and realize half the town is walking around bare-faced while the other half look like they raided a face paint booth. Auto Makeup is a mod by deadlystingnyc that fixes this exact problem by applying tone-matched makeup to female Sims automatically, so every face in your save looks intentional rather than randomized.

Why The Sims 4 Needs This Mod

When The Sims 4 does apply makeup on its own, the results are rarely cohesive. The game pulls from the entire catalog at random with no regard for skintone, outfit category, or whether the individual pieces actually belong together. The usual workarounds, such as blocking makeup from randomized Sims entirely or curating saved outfit lists in MCCC with "use saved outfits only" enabled, are a lot of effort just to avoid the problem instead of solving it.

Auto Makeup takes a different approach. Instead of randomizing, it selects lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, and eyelashes that genuinely suit each Sim's skintone, then applies them consistently across every appropriate outfit category without any input from you.

How Auto Makeup Works

Click any Sim and run Auto Makeup → Build Makeup Config to scan your owned CAS parts and build the makeup catalog. From there, Apply Makeup handles tone-matched application on demand, or you can enable auto-fix in the config to let it run in the background on Sim spawn, age up, or both.

Tone-matched application draws from a small, hand-selected pool of styles and swatches from the base game and the Essential Glam Kit. If that kit is not installed, those styles are skipped automatically. Custom content is not used for tone-matched application unless it directly overrides one of those specific styles. Auto-fix and Apply Makeup fill empty makeup slots only, so existing makeup is never overwritten.

If you would rather skip manual file handling altogether, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click install path that drops Auto Makeup straight into your Mods folder with the correct file structure already in place. The launcher also tracks version compatibility, so you can see at a glance whether Auto Makeup matches your current game patch before you load a save.

Supported Versions and Mod Compatibility

Auto Makeup is tested and compatible with the August 25th, 2026 patch on PC and Mac, game version 1.127.41. It requires only the base game, though the Essential Glam Kit is strongly recommended for the widest tone-matching selection. An EA Lash Remover mod, such as the one by Wightspider, is also highly recommended so eyeliner and lashes display cleanly.

The mod makes no tuning overrides and patches Python directly, which keeps conflicts with other mods unlikely. It works alongside CC makeup for the randomization functions, and translations are available in French and Spanish.

What Auto-Fix Excludes

  • Athletic, Sleep, Bathing, and Swimwear outfits are never modified automatically
  • Males and Sims with fantasy skintones are not eligible for auto-fix or Apply Makeup
  • Manual randomization tools work on any Sim regardless of gender or skintone
  • Auto-fix applies to female Sims Teen and up, and is off by default

How to Install Auto Makeup for The Sims 4

Installation is straightforward. Download and unzip deadlystingnyc_auto_makeup.zip, then drop the unzipped folder into your Mods directory at Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/. In game, open Game Options → Other and confirm that Script Mods are enabled. Finally, click any Sim and run Auto Makeup → Build Makeup Config to finish setup.

Both the .ts4script and .package files are required. The mod will not function if either is missing. If you want to customize behavior, create deadlystingnyc_auto_makeup.cfg in your Mods folder alongside the script to control options like auto-fix, NPC inclusion, age-up handling, and CC toggling. Config values can also be set in game through console commands, which generate the file automatically and apply changes without a restart.

Final Thoughts

Auto Makeup solves a small but persistent annoyance that most players only notice after the fact. Rather than fighting the randomization system or micromanaging outfit lists, you get finished-looking faces across your entire save with minimal setup. If bare-faced townies have been bothering you, this mod is a clean, low-conflict fix worth adding to your Mods folder.
