Advanced Birth Certificate
For players who love storytelling and occult families, the standard hospital paperwork in The Sims 4 can feel a little flat. When your vampire, mermaid, or spellcaster Sim welcomes a new baby, the game hands you a generic "Human" birth certificate that ignores the magical heritage entirely. The Advanced Birth Certificate mod fixes this oversight with a charming, lore-friendly overhaul. It adds distinct certificates for every occult life state, gives you the ability to rename certificates, and even provides a certificate when your Sim gives birth through the hospital rabbithole. This is a must-have utility for legacy players, occult enthusiasts, and anyone who values immersive details.
What Does the Advanced Birth Certificate Mod Do?
This mod builds on the base-game birth certificate system introduced with the Get to Work expansion. Instead of a one-size-fits-all document, the mod generates unique, themed certificates for each occult type. You will see separate designs for Vampires, Mermaids, Spellcasters, Fairies, and Werewolves. Human babies still receive the standard certificate, but you can also grab an optional add-on that gives the human version a fresh, subtle visual upgrade.
Beyond the visual flair, the mod introduces a practical feature: when you send a pregnant Sim to the hospital via the rabbithole, they will now return home with a physical certificate in their inventory. This makes the hospital birth experience feel more rewarding and tangible. You can also rename any certificate you receive, which is perfect for correcting typos or personalizing the keepsake for your family tree.
Occult-Specific Certificate Designs
- Vampire certificates feature dark, gothic borders and bat motifs.
- Mermaid certificates use ocean waves, shells, and a soft aqua palette.
- Spellcaster certificates are adorned with stars, wands, and mystical runes.
- Fairy certificates include delicate wings and floral flourishes.
- Werewolf certificates showcase paw prints, moon phases, and rugged textures.
Mod Compatibility and Requirements
Before you download Advanced Birth Certificate, you need to know the prerequisites. This mod requires the XML Injector mod by Scumbumbo to function correctly. You also need the Get to Work expansion pack, as the base certificate system is tied to that pack. The mod works with the base game version of The Sims 4, and it is compatible with the latest game patches, including the For Rent and Life & Death updates. Always check the mod page for the current patch compatibility notes, as major game updates can sometimes require a small mod refresh.
The mod also plays nicely with PandaSama's Child Birth Mod. When you give birth using PandaSama's interactions, you will receive both PandaSama's standard certificate and an additional occult-specific certificate from this mod if the baby is a vampire, mermaid, spellcaster, fairy, or werewolf. This dual-certificate system ensures no conflict and adds a nice layer of depth to home births.
