VeinSim (xray)
Mining in Minecraft has always been a gamble. You dig for an hour, find three diamonds, and wonder if there was a better way. VeinSim (xray) answers that question with a completely different approach to ore hunting. Instead of peeking at hidden block data like a traditional X-ray mod, it re-simulates Minecraft's world generation from the seed and draws the results as colored, see-through wireframe boxes. That means you can locate real veins and real structures even on servers running anti-xray protection.
How VeinSim (xray) Works
The core idea is simple but clever. Every Minecraft world is generated from a seed, and that generation is deterministic. VeinSim (xray) reproduces the vanilla algorithm block-for-block and calculates where ores should be. Because it never reads hidden blocks, anti-xray plugins have nothing to detect. You are not cheating the server's data; you are running the same math the game already ran.
If you do not know the seed, the mod can work it out for you. It watches structures as they come into view and cracks the world seed on its own. No commands, no setup. Just explore. Landmarks like shipwrecks, desert pyramids, igloos, jungle temples, swamp huts, ocean ruins, and pillager outposts all feed the detector. Once cracked, the seed is saved per server and reused the next time you join.
Ore Prediction
Every predicted ore is outlined in a bright, color-coded box visible through terrain. You can toggle overworld ores, deepslate variants separately, and Nether ores like ancient debris, nether quartz, and nether gold. Search range runs from 1 to 16 chunks around you, and a result limit caps how many boxes render at once, nearest first, to keep performance smooth. A nearest-vein-only mode shows just the closest vein of each selected ore for quick mining runs.
Accuracy is honest about its limits. Iron, copper, redstone, lapis, gold, emerald, coal (upper), nether quartz, nether gold, ancient debris, and buried diamond or lapis are fully deterministic and predicted precisely. Lower coal and regular diamond depend on nearby cave air, which no seed-based tool can derive, so expect a few extras. Enabling nearest-vein-only with a small search range gives the cleanest results.
Structures and Biomes
VeinSim (xray) locates 22 structure types from the seed, including villages, outposts, pyramids, temples, igloos, huts, mansions, trail ruins, monuments, ocean ruins, shipwrecks, buried treasure, ruined portals, strongholds, mineshafts, ancient cities, trial chambers, fortresses, bastions, nether fossils, and end cities. See-through boxes are drawn around each one, with a search radius up to 256 chunks. Biome search reaches out to 25,600 blocks, and you can bind your compass to any structure or biome so it points the way, with a distinct model when you arrive.
If you prefer a launcher that handles the boring parts, the foxygame.net launcher bundles VeinSim (xray) into a searchable add-on catalog, so installation is a single click and updates arrive automatically without you chasing new builds.
Supported Versions and Loader
VeinSim (xray) for Minecraft runs on Fabric. You need Fabric Loader, Fabric API, and Java 25. The mod is client-side only, so it does not need to be installed on the server, and no server-side permissions are required. The current release supports Minecraft 26.2 with VeinSim 1.0.0. Builds for 26.1.x and 1.21.11 are not yet available for this release, so check compatibility before you download VeinSim (xray).
How to Install VeinSim (xray)
- Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version.
- Place Fabric API in your mods folder.
- Drop the VeinSim (xray) jar into the same mods folder.
- Launch the game and join a world or server.
- If you know the seed, run /VeinSim seed followed by the number. If not, just play and let auto-crack handle it.
- Press V to open the config menu and choose what to find.
- Hold or toggle X to display the ore boxes.
Hotkeys and Quality of Life
Press V to open the in-game config menu, where you can rebind the overlay key, switch between TOGGLE and HOLD activation, adjust search range, cap max boxes, and toggle each ore individually. Chat status messages can be turned off, and everything saves to config/vein-sim.json. Heavy settings trigger an in-menu warning so you know what may cause lag. The /VeinSim inspect command explains what the detector sees where you are standing.
Structure recognition was measured over 50 real structures, and 46 were found. Desert pyramids, igloos, jungle temples, shipwrecks, swamp huts, and pillager outposts were recognized every single time. Ocean ruins are the exception because Minecraft deliberately erodes them during generation, often deleting around half the blocks. Intact ruins are found; heavily eroded ones are not. Missing one structure costs nothing, since cracking simply uses the next one you walk past.
Final Thoughts
VeinSim (xray) is a smart alternative to traditional X-ray mods for players who want real ore locations without risking a ban. Seed cracking, ore prediction, structure and biome search, and compass binding all come together in one client-side package. Download VeinSim (xray), explore some new terrain, and let the seed do the work.
