If you have spent countless hours organizing your storage room in Minecraft, you know that chests are the unsung heroes of any base. They hold your precious diamonds, your stacks of cobblestone, and that one enchanted golden apple you are saving for a rainy day. But let’s be honest: default chests can feel a bit bland. The Mustache Storage resource pack changes that by giving your single and double chests a dash of personality — literally, a curly, dignified mustache.
What Is the Mustache Storage Resource Pack?
Mustache Storage is a lightweight, humorous resource pack that retextures the standard chest block to sport a classy mustache. Created by Filuren, this pack is designed to overlay on top of the popular Faithful 32x resource pack, using its crisp, faithful-to-vanilla textures as a canvas. The result is a chest that looks like it belongs to a Victorian gentleman or a cartoon villain, adding a layer of charm to your storage system. The pack currently covers both single and double chests, and the creator has hinted that more storage blocks, such as dispensers, might receive the same treatment in future updates.
Key Features
- Adds a detailed mustache texture to standard single and double chests.
- Designed to complement the Faithful 32x resource pack for a high-quality, vanilla-friendly look.
- Easy to install and toggle on or off through the resource pack menu.
- Brings a unique, shareable quirk to your world — perfect for multiplayer servers or showing off to friends.
Why Mustaches on Chests?
Minecraft is a game built on creativity, and resource packs are one of the simplest ways to personalize your experience without altering core mechanics. A mustachioed chest might seem like a tiny change, but it transforms the way you interact with your inventory. Every time you open a chest, you are greeted by a whimsical face that makes sorting items feel less like a chore. It is a conversation starter on servers, a way to prank your friends, or simply a nod to the absurd humor that the Minecraft community loves. The pack does not change any gameplay mechanics, so it is purely cosmetic and safe to use on any world or server.
Installation and Compatibility
Because Mustache Storage relies on the Faithful 32x pack as its base, you need to have that pack installed first. Faithful 32x is a well-known resource pack that doubles the resolution of default textures while staying true to the original art style. The creator of Mustache Storage received permission from the Faithful team to use their textures as a foundation, so you can be sure the mustache blends seamlessly with the rest of your world. Once both packs are in your resource pack folder, the order matters: Mustache Storage must be placed above Faithful in the active list. This ensures the mustache texture overrides the chest texture correctly. If you place it below, you will just see the standard Faithful chest without the mustache.
For those who prefer a streamlined experience, the foxygame.net launcher allows you to browse and install resource packs right from its built-in menu, saving you the hassle of manual file placement. This modern launcher makes it simple to manage multiple packs, switch between them on the fly, and keep everything updated without digging through system folders.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Download the Mustache Storage resource pack and the Faithful 32x pack from their respective official sources.
- Place both .zip files into the
resourcepacksfolder of your Minecraft directory. - Launch Minecraft and navigate to Options > Resource Packs.
- Move Faithful 32x to the active side first, then add Mustache Storage above it.
- Click Done and wait for the textures to load. Your chests should now display a glorious mustache.
Tips for the Best Visual Experience
To get the most out of Mustache Storage, consider using it alongside other Faithful-compatible add-ons that maintain a consistent visual style. The mustache texture is subtle enough that it does not clash with most builds, but it shines in medieval, steampunk, or whimsical themes. If you are playing on a server, let your friends know about the pack — they will see the default chests on their end unless they install it too, but you can always share a screenshot to prove your storage is fancier than theirs. The creator has mentioned that future updates might extend the mustache to dispensers, droppers, and perhaps even shulker boxes, so keep an eye on the pack’s development.
Conclusion
Mustache Storage is a small but delightful addition to any Minecraft player’s resource pack collection. It does not overhaul the entire game or demand a powerful computer; it simply adds a smile-inducing detail to the blocks you use most. By combining it with Faithful 32x and ensuring the correct load order, you can enjoy a polished, high-resolution mustache that makes your storage room truly one of a kind. Whether you are a builder, a redstone engineer, or just someone who appreciates a good joke, this pack proves that sometimes the best mods are the ones that make you chuckle every time you open a chest.
