SCC - Super Cool Calculator: Storage & Autocrafting for Minecraft

SCC - Super Cool Calculator turns your chests into a full storage network with automatic crafting for Minecraft. No cells, no patterns, no hassle!

SCC - Super Cool Calculator

Storage mods usually ask a lot before they give anything back. Build drives, encode patterns, plan a room full of blocks, and only then does your base start to feel organised. SCC - Super Cool Calculator takes the opposite approach. It turns the chests, barrels, drawers and tanks you already own into a working storage network, then quietly handles the tedious half of crafting for you.

What Makes SCC - Super Cool Calculator Different

The core idea is simple: nothing to encode. The recipe catalogue is built from the recipes your modpack already ships, including every workbench recipe, every furnace recipe, and every machine recipe that JEI knows about. Change a recipe, add a mod, and the catalogue rebuilds itself. There are no storage cells and no drives to build first either. Place a Storage Connector on a container and its contents belong to the network from that moment on.

Machines identify themselves too. Put a Processing Calculator against a machine and it reads the block's own ID, so in the normal case there is nothing to configure. Ask for one netherite pickaxe and the network understands the diamonds, sticks, scrap and gold behind it, then goes and makes all of them if you let it.

Supported Versions and Loader

SCC - Super Cool Calculator for Minecraft currently targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. JEI or EMI is not required, but it is strongly recommended, since that is where nearly every recipe in your pack comes from. Everything else is optional, and seventeen mods have dedicated integrations that load only when present.

Your First Five Minutes

Four blocks and you have a working network. Place a Calculator Controller and give it power through any FE cable, or use a Transfer Calculator in energy mode on a generator. No power grid yet? Run /scc power off and it works without one.

  • Run Network Cable from the controller to a chest and attach a Storage Connector.
  • Place a Network Terminal anywhere on the cable and open it to see the chest contents as a searchable grid.
  • Add a Calculation Crafter for workbench recipes.
  • Add a Processing Calculator to every machine the network may use.

From there, anything craftable opens an order window showing what comes out of storage, what has to be crafted, and what is missing, all before you commit. If you would rather skip the manual setup entirely, the foxygame.net launcher bundles SCC - Super Cool Calculator into a one-click install that keeps the add-on matched to your exact Minecraft version.

Works With Applied Energistics, Not Against It

With AE2 installed, the Network Antenna also registers as an AE2 wireless access point, which is the hook other mods look for. A Storage Connector works on any block of an AE2 network, including the controller, cable, drive or ME Interface, and the whole ME network becomes storage in both directions. Whatever that network has a pattern for appears as craftable in the SCC terminal with a small AE2 badge. Order it and the job goes to AE2, while everything else stays with SCC. No AE2 channel is used.

When Something Goes Wrong

Every storage mod eventually leaves you staring at a machine that is not doing anything. This one tries to answer instead of letting you guess. With Jade installed, every block writes its own line about network size, what a calculator is waiting for, or why a job is stuck. Ctrl and middle-click an item in the terminal and it tells you exactly what is missing and how much. The command /scc doctor lists which recipe kinds the network cannot run, each with the block that would fix it, while /scc unstick releases stuck step filters and frees the machines.

Power, Stars and Style

Power mode is on by default, and a grown base lands around 50 to 100 FE/t, which one simple generator covers. The Sky Harvester is the hungry exception, drawing from 40 FE/t with the Basic lens up to 12,000 FE/t with the Singularity lens. Photon Mode lets a harvester collect starlight instead, generating up to 1,600 FE/t without consuming power itself, and the Stellar Cradle ignites forged stars for far more.

Tiered blocks climb the same ladder from Basic through Red Dwarf, Yellow Star, Blue Giant, Neutron Star and Singularity, and above Basic nothing is crafted from ingots any more. It is forged. Look north at night and five objects circle the pole and never set. Cosmetics matter too: every block wears the Star Forge style, with 26 designs from default dark steel to Porcelain, Burgundy and Gold or Lapis Lazuli, switchable in game with F7.

How to Install

To download SCC - Super Cool Calculator, grab the file matching Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge, then drop it into your mods folder alongside JEI or EMI. Launch the game once so the config generates, and the manual chapter will walk you through the rest in the order a player actually needs it. Client and dedicated server both start with no other mod in the folder, so nothing breaks if your pack is minimal.

SCC - Super Cool Calculator does not ask you to rebuild your base around it. It reads what you already have, learns what your pack can make, and gets out of the way. That is exactly why it earns a permanent slot in any modpack.
