Pumpkin Cat
The spooky season deserves more than jack-o'-lanterns and candy. If you have ever wandered through a dark forest at night and wished for a little glowing companion to keep you company, the Pumpkin Cat add-on is exactly what your world has been missing. This charming creation brings a friendly, flying feline straight into your Minecraft adventures, and it fits perfectly with any Halloween-themed build or survival playthrough.
What Is the Pumpkin Cat?
The Pumpkin Cat is a peaceful mob that takes the familiar shape of a cat and gives it a festive pumpkin twist. Rather than prowling on the ground like an ordinary cat, this creature drifts through the air, gliding silently between the trees. It is designed for players who want a touch of seasonal magic without adding anything aggressive or complicated to their game.
Because it is a passive mob, the Pumpkin Cat will never attack you. It simply exists to make the night feel a little warmer and a lot more whimsical. Whether you are building a haunted village or just exploring after sunset, spotting one of these floating companions is always a welcome sight.
Where to Find the Pumpkin Cat
These creatures spawn naturally in the dark forest biome, so you will need to seek out one of the gloomiest and most atmospheric locations in the game. The dark forest is already known for its towering trees and shadowy canopy, which makes it the ideal home for a flying pumpkin-themed pet.
Since the mob flies, you may need to look upward as well as around you. Keep an eye out for a soft orange glow drifting between the branches. Once you spot one, approaching it is easy because it does not flee or fight back.
Feeding and the Night Vision Effect
The real reward for befriending a Pumpkin Cat comes from feeding it. Its favorite food is pumpkin pie, and offering one triggers a helpful bonus.
- Feed the Pumpkin Cat pumpkin pie to receive the night vision effect.
- The effect is temporary, so you may want to keep a few pies on hand.
- Night vision makes cave exploration and nighttime building far easier.
- The mob remains peaceful and friendly throughout the interaction.
This mechanic turns the Pumpkin Cat into a practical ally rather than just a decorative addition. A quick snack for your floating friend can mean the difference between stumbling through the dark and navigating your surroundings with total clarity.
Supported Versions and Requirements
Minecraft Versions and Loader
The add-on is built for modern versions of Minecraft and relies on the Fabric loader to run properly. Before you install it, make sure your game version matches the one the mod was designed for, since mismatched versions are the most common cause of crashes.
GeckoLib3 Dependency
This mod requires GeckoLib3 to function. GeckoLib is an animation library that allows custom mobs to move smoothly, and without it the Pumpkin Cat simply will not appear in your world. Install GeckoLib3 first, then add the Pumpkin Cat files alongside it.
How to Install
Getting this companion into your game is straightforward. If you are wondering how to install the mod, follow these steps:
- Install the Fabric loader for your Minecraft version.
- Download GeckoLib3 and place it in your mods folder.
- Download Pumpkin Cat for Minecraft and drop the file into the same folder.
- Launch the game and confirm both mods load correctly.
For players who prefer a smoother setup, the foxygame.net launcher handles the entire process automatically, letting you add Pumpkin Cat with a single click and keeping every dependency up to date. That means no manual file juggling and no version-matching headaches.
Once everything is in place, head to a dark forest at night and start searching the skies. A friendly flying feline with a pumpkin on its head is waiting to become your new favorite travel buddy.
Final Thoughts
The Pumpkin Cat is a small but delightful addition that captures the spirit of the spooky season without disrupting the balance of your world. It offers a peaceful companion, a useful night vision buff, and a reason to revisit the dark forest biome. If you want to download Pumpkin Cat and bring a little Halloween magic to your next survival world, this mod is a wonderful place to start.
