Discover the Humble Path of Francis Rabbit – Plant, Harvest, Give
Many Minecraft mods push you toward amassing riches, hoarding diamonds, and crafting the most overpowered gear. Francis Rabbit flips that script entirely. This mod is all about modesty, charity, and finding strength through restraint. Instead of chasing expensive items, you give away food, avoid luxury, and earn Faith Points that unlock powerful tools and abilities. It’s a refreshing twist that makes survival feel meaningful in a completely new way.
The Faith Emblem – Your Badge of Devotion
At the heart of the mod lies the Faith Emblem, a chestplate armor piece that tracks your progression. Wearing it is a commitment: every minute you spend without an expensive item in your inventory, you gain 1 Faith Point (FP). But if you’re caught holding something valuable, you lose 30 FP instantly. Remove the emblem from your chest or inventory, and your entire FP count resets to zero. To check your current FP, simply hover your cursor over the emblem. It’s a constant test of discipline, and the rewards are worth the sacrifice.
What Counts as an Expensive Item?
The mod defines expensive items broadly, ensuring you think twice before picking up that shiny ore. Any tool or armor piece with more than 200 durability qualifies, along with a specific list of blocks and materials:
- Diamond, Diamond Block, and Diamond Ore
- Gold Ingot, Gold Block, Gold Ore, Gold Nugget
- Golden Apple, Golden Carrot, Golden tools and armor
- Cake, Emerald, Emerald Block, Emerald Ore
- Ender Pearl, Ghast Tear, Glowstone Dust, Glowstone Block
- Beacon, Dragon Egg, Lapis Block, Nether Star
Future updates will expand this list to include items crafted from these materials, as well as ore dictionary entries from other mods, making the challenge even more nuanced.
The Charity Chest – Give Food, Gain Faith
Donating food is the primary way to boost your Faith Points. The Charity Chest block has no GUI; you interact with it directly. Right-click the chest with a stack of food while wearing your Faith Emblem, and you’ll receive FP based on the stack size, hunger value, and saturation of the food. Donating a full stack gives extra points, so it’s wise to farm in bulk. To retrieve donated food, you must not be wearing the Faith Emblem—shift-click the chest to pull out one stack at a time. Be careful: breaking the chest destroys all contents, so place it somewhere safe.
Getting started with such a unique mod can sometimes feel tricky if you’re manually juggling files, but the experience is seamless when you use a launcher that handles everything for you. For instance, many players find that the foxygame.net launcher makes it effortless to install Francis Rabbit and other mods directly from its built-in menu, keeping your setup clean and modern without any hassle. Once installed, you can jump right into the charity-driven gameplay.
Faithed Soil – Farming Without the Fuss
Faithed Soil is a farmer’s dream. Crops planted on this block don’t need water nearby, and jumping on it won’t trample them. Best of all, right-clicking the block when crops are fully grown automatically harvests and replants them, saving you endless clicking. It’s perfect for building compact, automated farms that align with the mod’s humble philosophy.
Oils and Crafting Components
The mod introduces three types of oils—base oil, bark oil, and seeds oil—used as crafting ingredients for advanced tools. You’ll gather these through simple processing, and they form the backbone of the mod’s equipment progression.
Faith-Forged Tools – Power Through Purity
Abstaining from wealth grants access to tools that repair themselves and grant powerful buffs. Each one has a unique role:
- Faithed Wooden Sword – A humble weapon that grows with your faith.
- Faithed Stone Pickaxe – Cheap and efficient, capable of mining blocks up to obsidian. Future versions will require the Faith Emblem to function.
- Glowing Wooden Axe – A highly efficient axe and weapon. With each hit, you gain buffs based on your FP: over 30 FP grants Water Breathing and Fire Resistance for 8 seconds; over 100 adds Resistance II; over 200 gives Strength II; over 300 provides Regeneration III; over 600 bestows Speed III for 40 seconds; over 1000 grants Absorption III; and over 1500 adds Health Boost IV. If your FP drops below zero, you suffer Hunger VI for 12 seconds. The axe slowly repairs itself as long as you wear the Faith Emblem with more than 30 FP.
- Glowing Flint Scythe – Right-click on a crop to harvest and replant a 3x3 area of fully matured crops. It also breaks grass, dirt, and farmland quickly. Like other tools, it self-repairs with enough FP.
Automation and Alternative Resources
The Glowing Farmer Block sets adult animals on fire for 30 seconds, automating meat and leather production without harming players, zombies, or villagers. Meanwhile, Fluffy Cotton crops let you grow feathers, string, and wool. Craft 9 fluffy cotton into a wool block, 4 into a feather, or 3 into string—giving you a peaceful, plant-based alternative to animal farming.
For version 1.10.2, the Soil Fertiliser block consumes coal oil to speed up crop growth in a 5x5 area for 10 seconds. It’s a handy way to boost yields when you need food for donations.
Why Francis Rabbit Stands Out
Francis Rabbit transforms the way you approach survival. Instead of hoarding, you’re constantly evaluating what you carry, donating to the less fortunate, and reaping tangible rewards for your selflessness. The self-repairing tools and dynamic buff system tie your power directly to your moral choices, making every moment feel intentional. Whether you’re setting up a charity farm with Faithed Soil or wielding a Glowing Wooden Axe that scales with your faith, the mod delivers a cohesive and deeply satisfying experience. It’s a gentle reminder that sometimes the greatest strength comes from what you’re willing to give up.
