Page title: No Crop Trample Lite: Save Your Farmland in Minecraft

Meta description: No Crop Trample Lite stops farmland from turning to dirt when mobs, players, or arrows land on it. A tiny fix for Minecraft 26.1.x. Grab it today!

No Crop Trample Lite

You know the feeling. You have spent an entire in-game day planting wheat, carrots, and potatoes, only to watch a wandering zombie stomp one block of farmland into plain dirt. Or you hop down from a hill, land on your field, and one crop is gone forever. Vanilla Minecraft does not care about your feelings. It only cares about physics.

No Crop Trample Lite is a small add-on that fixes exactly one thing: farmland no longer reverts to dirt when entities land on it. That is it. No new blocks, no new items, no menus full of sliders. Just the fix, implemented cleanly and loading fast.

Why This Add-On Exists

Minecraft 26.1.x is still fresh, and the big legacy trample-prevention mods have not ported over yet. If you play on Fabric or NeoForge, you have probably noticed the gap. No Crop Trample Lite fills it with a minimal implementation that targets Minecraft 26.1.x on both Fabric and NeoForge, so you are not stuck waiting for a larger mod to catch up.

The whole point is speed and simplicity. There is no bloat to slow down your load time, and there is no configuration maze to navigate. You install it, launch the game, and your fields stop dying.

What No Crop Trample Lite Actually Does

By default, the add-on disables farmland trampling for every entity in the game. That includes players, hostile and passive mobs, and projectiles such as arrows and tridents. If a skeleton fires an arrow across your wheat field, the farmland underneath survives.

Fall damage still applies normally. The add-on only skips the farmland-destruction path, so jumping off a cliff still hurts. You just do not lose crops over it.

How It Works Under the Hood

On Fabric, a tiny mixin wraps the turnToDirt(...) call inside FarmlandBlock.fallOn, using MixinExtras' @WrapOperation. MixinExtras ships bundled with Fabric Loader, so there is no extra dependency to manage.

On NeoForge, the add-on subscribes to the built-in BlockEvent.FarmlandTrampleEvent and cancels it. Both code paths route through the same config-aware decision, which means future per-entity-type toggles can be added without breaking anything you already have installed.

How to Install No Crop Trample Lite

If you have installed add-ons before, this takes under a minute. Here is the process for both loaders.

  • Confirm you are running Minecraft 26.1.x with Java 25 installed.
  • Install Fabric Loader 0.18.4 or newer along with Fabric API, or NeoForge 26.1 or newer.
  • Place the No Crop Trample Lite file into your mods folder.
  • Launch the game once so the config file generates.
  • Restart the game or your dedicated server after any config edit.

If you would rather skip the manual file shuffling, the foxygame.net launcher handles the whole process for you. It lists No Crop Trample Lite directly in its add-on catalog and installs it with a single click, matching the correct build to your Minecraft version automatically so you never have to guess which loader variant to grab.

Configuration

On first launch, the add-on creates a file at config/nocroptramplelite.json. It contains one option:

  • preventTrampling — default true. When enabled, no entity can trample farmland. Set it to false to restore vanilla behavior.

That is the entire config. There are no hidden flags, no performance trade-offs, and no compatibility headaches waiting to surprise you.

Compatibility with Modded Crops

This is where a lot of small add-ons fall apart, but No Crop Trample Lite handles the common cases automatically.

  • Modded crops planted on vanilla farmland, which covers Farmer's Delight and most magic-crop add-ons.
  • Modded farmland that extends vanilla FarmlandBlock, since inheritance carries the protection through.
  • Modded farmland that overrides fallOn but still calls super.fallOn(...), because the super call routes back into the protected path.

There are a few edge cases it does not touch. Farmland that fully replaces fallOn with its own trample logic is rare but unaffected. Custom "farmland" blocks that do not extend FarmlandBlock at all are also outside its reach. Pot-style growers such as Botany Pots and Garden Cloches are fine either way, since they never had trampling to begin with.

Requirements and License

You need Minecraft 26.1.x, Java 25, and either Fabric Loader 0.18.4 or newer with Fabric API, or NeoForge 26.1 or newer. The add-on is released under CC0-1.0, which places it in the public domain. Do whatever you want with it.

If you want to download No Crop Trample Lite for Minecraft, it is a tiny file with a tiny job. It will not change how your world looks, it will not add anything to your inventory, and it will not fight with your other add-ons. It simply makes sure that the crops you planted stay planted. For anyone running a farm on Minecraft 26.1.x, that is more than enough reason to keep it installed.
