Netherite Armor Bar
When you grind through the Nether, collect ancient debris, and finally craft a full set of Netherite gear, you want to feel the difference. In vanilla Minecraft, however, your armor HUD tells a different story. Diamond and Netherite armor both display the same white icons, making your hard-earned upgrade look identical to what you had before. The Netherite Armor Bar mod fixes this visual oversight in the most elegant way possible.
Why Your Armor HUD Needs This Mod
Minecraft's default armor bar is functional, but it lacks flair. You cannot tell at a glance whether your protection comes from Diamond or Netherite. This is where the Netherite Armor Bar steps in. It is a lightweight, client-side Fabric mod that recolors the armor points provided by Netherite gear in a striking golden hue. The rest of your armor bar remains untouched, so you always know exactly what is contributing to your defense.
How the Golden Highlight Works
The mod does not invent new armor values or add a separate bar. It simply reads which armor pieces you are wearing and colors the corresponding points. Each Netherite piece contributes its standard vanilla armor value:
- Netherite Helmet: 3 armor points
- Netherite Chestplate: 8 armor points
- Netherite Leggings: 6 armor points
- Netherite Boots: 3 armor points
For example, if you wear a Diamond Helmet, a Netherite Chestplate, Diamond Leggings, and Netherite Boots, the HUD will show the Diamond points in the standard white, while the 11 points from your Netherite pieces glow gold. This works even with partial armor icons, such as half-points, ensuring precise visual feedback.
Pure Visual Enhancement, Zero Gameplay Changes
Some mods alter armor mechanics, add new bars, or shift the HUD around. Not this one. The Netherite Armor Bar keeps the vanilla armor HUD exactly where it belongs. It does not change protection values, does not add new elements, and requires no configuration. You simply install it, and it works.
