MultiYggdrasil: Multiple Yggdrasil Auth for Minecraft

MultiYggdrasil

Managing player authentication across different Minecraft servers can quickly become a headache, especially if you run a network that uses custom or third-party login systems. MultiYggdrasil is the elegant solution that lets you configure multiple Yggdrasil API sources within a single mod, so your players can connect seamlessly regardless of which authentication backend they rely on. Whether you are hosting a private community server with a blessing skin system or want to keep the official Mojang authentication alongside a custom mirror, this mod puts you in full control.

What Is MultiYggdrasil?

At its core, MultiYggdrasil is a server-side mod for Minecraft that extends the game's authentication capabilities. Normally, a Minecraft server only accepts one Yggdrasil endpoint, the official Mojang session server. MultiYggdrasil breaks that limitation by allowing you to define multiple authentication sources, each with its own priority. The mod draws inspiration from MultiLogin and borrows some code from authlib-injector under the AGPL-3.0 license, ensuring a robust and well-tested foundation. With MultiYggdrasil for Minecraft, you can mix official and external authentication servers, making it perfect for hybrid communities.

Key Features and Supported Loaders

MultiYggdrasil is designed to work across the most popular modding platforms. It supports Forge and Fabric for Minecraft versions 1.14.4 through 1.19.4, and extends its compatibility to NeoForge starting from version 1.20.1 up to the latest 1.21.1 releases. This wide loader support means you can integrate it into almost any modern modded server environment without worrying about conflicts. The mod introduces two authentication types: OFFICIAL and BLESSING_SKIN. The OFFICIAL type can be used with the default Mojang servers or any custom mirror that follows the Yggdrasil protocol, while BLESSING_SKIN is tailored for the popular LittleSkin and similar blessing skin APIs.

How to Install MultiYggdrasil

Getting started with MultiYggdrasil is straightforward. First, you need to download MultiYggdrasil from a trusted source like CurseForge or Modrinth. Make sure you pick the version that matches your server's Minecraft release and mod loader. Once you have the JAR file, simply place it into your server's /mods folder, just like any other mod. If you are using a launcher that simplifies mod management, you might find the process even easier. For instance, the foxygame.net launcher includes MultiYggdrasil in its add-on catalog, allowing a one-click install that automatically places the mod in the correct directory and keeps it updated. After adding the mod, launch your server, and MultiYggdrasil will generate a default configuration file ready for customization.

Configuration Guide

All settings for MultiYggdrasil live in a single file located at config/multi-yggdrasil.ini. The configuration uses a simple section-based format where each authentication source is defined under a custom name. Here is a quick breakdown of the available options:

• type – Set to OFFICIAL for standard Yggdrasil servers or BLESSING_SKIN for LittleSkin-style APIs.
• authHost, accountsHost, sessionHost, servicesHost, profilesHost – These host-like properties are required depending on the Minecraft version and authlib version. For example, on Minecraft 1.16.4 to 1.20.1, you need authHost, accountsHost, sessionHost, and servicesHost, while profilesHost is not used. On newer versions like 1.21.9 and above, only sessionHost, servicesHost, and profilesHost are required.
• apiRoot – Used exclusively with the BLESSING_SKIN type to point to the API root URL.
• ordinal – Determines the priority order. Lower numbers are tried first, so you can set your preferred authentication server as the primary source.

You can define as many sources as you need. A typical setup might include the official Mojang server with a high ordinal as a fallback, and a custom mirror or LittleSkin instance with a lower ordinal for primary use. The mod will attempt authentication against each source in the defined order until one succeeds, ensuring maximum flexibility.

Why Use MultiYggdrasil for Minecraft?

MultiYggdrasil solves a very specific but common problem for server administrators. If you run a network that welcomes players from both premium and cracked launchers, or if you use a custom authentication system for your community, this mod eliminates the need for multiple server instances or complex proxy setups. It also respects the original Yggdrasil protocol, so you do not have to sacrifice security for convenience. The ability to mix official and external sources means you can gradually migrate your player base to a new authentication system without downtime. Plus, the mod is actively maintained and updated to support the latest Minecraft versions, so you can rely on it for long-term projects.

Whether you are a seasoned server owner or just experimenting with custom authentication, MultiYggdrasil is a lightweight, powerful tool that deserves a spot in your mods folder. Download MultiYggdrasil today and take full command of your server's login flow.
