MultiGolem
Iron golems have guarded Minecraft villages since the early days, but they have always been a one-flavor defender. MultiGolem changes that in a big way. This add-on introduces eight distinct iron golem variants, each built from a different block and each filling a specialized defensive role. Whether you want a lightning-charged Copper guardian or a fireproof Netherite bruiser, this mod hands you a full roster of golem options without breaking vanilla compatibility.
What MultiGolem Adds
At its core, MultiGolem expands the classic iron golem into a tiered family of defenders. You still build the familiar T-shape, but the body block you choose determines which golem rises when you place a carved pumpkin on top. The add-on ships with the following variants:
- Copper Iron Golem
- Redstone Golem
- Gold Golem
- Lapis Golem
- Emerald Golem
- Diamond Golem
- Netherite Golem
- Zombie Golem
Each one brings its own stats, abilities, and healing material to the table. The vanilla iron golem recipe stays untouched, so nothing about your existing builds breaks.
Supported Versions and Loaders
MultiGolem targets modern Minecraft, requiring version 26.2 or later on a compatible 26.x runtime. Two builds are available depending on your setup. The Fabric build needs Fabric Loader 0.19.2 or newer alongside Fabric API 0.152.2+26.2. The NeoForge build requires NeoForge 26.2.0.6-beta or later on a compatible 26.2 runtime. If you run a server, note that the mod is server-side functional, meaning vanilla clients can connect to a MultiGolem server without installing anything.
Variant Abilities Breakdown
Copper and Redstone
Copper is your early-game pick. It preserves every copper oxidation state, from fresh to waxed, with matching textures, and lightning strikes heal it instead of hurting it. Redstone is the control specialist. It overcharges at or below 25% health, gaining attack and resistance without extra speed, then releases a Slowness X overload pulse when it dies.
Gold, Lapis, and Emerald
Gold moves at 75% increased speed, kicking up sprint-dust particles while running and sunlight-shine particles while idle outdoors. Lapis wards nearby allied village entities against magic damage and configured harmful effects, though player protection is off by default and must be enabled in the server config. Emerald passively heals whenever villagers or wandering traders are close by.
Diamond, Netherite, and Zombie
Diamond brings lightning offense through a passive line-of-sight zap, on-attack strikes, and full lightning immunity. Creepers are excluded by default. Netherite is the durable front line, immune to fire and lava while igniting anything it hits for five seconds. Zombie is the hostile corrupted variant, healing from Rotten Flesh, inflicting Hunger, Nausea, and Poison, and converting villagers into zombie villagers.
How to Install MultiGolem
Getting started is straightforward. First, confirm your Minecraft version and install the matching loader, either Fabric or NeoForge. Drop the MultiGolem jar into your mods folder, then launch the game. On first server start, the mod generates config/multigolem.json, where admins can tune health values, attack damage, ignored target types, ability settings, and village-spawn behavior. Permissions are permissive by default, so existing servers keep their current setup unless a permissions plugin denies a node. If you would rather skip the manual steps entirely, the foxygame.net launcher handles MultiGolem installation in a single click and keeps the add-on updated automatically whenever a new build drops.
Server Configuration and Modpacks
Server owners get deep control over how each tier behaves. Cross-tier ignored_target_types values let admins stop tiers from targeting creepers, endermen, players, or bosses. LuckPerms-compatible permission nodes govern who may create, heal, or spawn each golem type. Existing V1 config files migrate automatically to the V2 schema, and unknown fields are preserved where possible. MultiGolem is also allowed in modpacks, making it easy to bundle into larger setups.
Client Tools and Spawn Eggs
Players with ModMenu installed can open a client-side hub to verify that their client and server MultiGolem versions match, and to inspect the connected server's active customization values. When offline, the Golempedia and customization screens display default values instead. The mod also adds marked vanilla iron golem spawn eggs for every variant, while unmarked eggs remain vanilla-owned.
Final Thoughts
MultiGolem turns a single defensive mob into a full tactical toolkit. Copper for early survival, Redstone for crowd control, Gold for patrols, Lapis and Emerald for village support, Diamond for offense, Netherite for durability, and Zombie for chaos. With server-side functionality, deep configuration, and vanilla-friendly design, it is a strong pick for players who want more depth from their golems without overhauling the game.
