MineTP: Fast Travel Networks with Waystones, Pillars and Scrolls

Long treks across a survival world are one of the biggest time sinks in Minecraft. MineTP solves that problem with a complete, server-friendly fast-travel system built around three simple ideas: craftable Waystones you place and name yourself, towering Elysian Teleport Pillars that generate naturally across every dimension, and single-use Warp Scrolls that let you jump home from anywhere. If you want to download MineTP, you will find it targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge 21.1.233 or newer, running on Java 21, with no dependencies required.

What MineTP Adds to Your World

MineTP for Minecraft is not just a teleport command wrapped in a menu. Every feature is validated on the server, configurable by admins, and designed to keep a multiplayer world stable. The mod registers its own creative tab, works in singleplayer and on dedicated servers, and leaves vanilla village generation, structures and terrain completely untouched.

Waystones: Your Personal Travel Points

A Waystone is a tall, glowing obelisk you craft and place wherever you want a travel point. Right-click to activate it and the waystone joins your personal network, receiving an automatic village-style name such as Riverwood, Ebonreach, Stonehollow or Frosthaven. Right-click again to open the teleport menu. As the owner, you can flip a waystone to global so every player who discovered it can travel there, and flip it back to revoke access instantly. Renaming works from the menu with the [R] button or by right-clicking with a named name tag, which is consumed in the process. Only the owner or an admin can break a waystone, and it stands two blocks tall, emits full light, and puffs purple End particles when placed and used.

Elysian Teleport Pillars: Public Travel for Everyone

These 3x3, five-block-tall crystal towers generate naturally as free public travel points scattered across the world. They are always public, never owned, and cannot be claimed, renamed or converted. They also do not count against your personal waystone quota. Pillars appear in the Overworld, the Nether and the End, with roughly one pillar per 40x40 chunk cell, about 640 blocks apart on average, and a guaranteed minimum of 515 blocks between any two. One pillar is guaranteed at every Overworld village, placed beside the village rather than inside it. A cosmetic locator lightning bolt occasionally strikes a pillar when a player is nearby, so you can spot one from a distance at night. In Survival, pillars cannot be mined at all, which keeps public travel points from disappearing on a shared server.

Warp Scrolls: Emergency Travel

A Warp Scroll is a one-use parchment for the moment you are deep in a cave with a full inventory. Right-click anywhere, no waystone needed, to open your destination list. Pick a destination, travel, and the scroll crumbles to dust. It is only spent if you actually travel, so closing the menu, hitting a cooldown, or failing the safe-landing check leaves the scroll in your hand. Scrolls stack to 16 and are never consumed in Creative.

Recipes and the Teleport Menu

Crafting is straightforward. A Waystone needs 3 Ender Pearls and 3 Obsidian, arranged with the pearls in a vertical line above the obsidian row. A Warp Scroll takes 8 Paper and 1 Ender Pearl and yields 2 scrolls. The Elysian Teleport Pillar has no recipe at all, since it only appears through world generation, though admins can place one from the creative tab or with a command.

The teleport menu itself is a scrollable list with mouse wheel support and three views: All TPs, My TPs and Global TPs. You can sort by distance or name, and every row shows a dimension and distance with colour-coded marks: cyan for your own waystones, yellow for public ones, magenta for natural pillars, and orange for an older discovery not yet indexed. The experience cost is shown per destination before you commit, and left-clicking a row travels there. The menu refreshes every two seconds without loading a single remote chunk, so changes made by other players appear immediately.

If you would rather skip manual mod management entirely, the foxygame.net launcher handles the setup for you: it installs MineTP in one click and keeps it updated automatically, so you never have to match loader versions by hand.

Travel Rules and Server Support

Cross-dimension travel works out of the box. Experience cost scales with distance by default: up to 128 blocks is free, up to 1000 costs 1 level, up to 2000 costs 2, up to 3000 costs 3, and anything further or across dimensions costs 5. Creative and Spectator players always travel free, and admins can switch the whole system to free travel. A five-second cooldown applies between trips, and you always land beside the waystone rather than on top of it, with a safe-landing check in Survival.

Everything is decided server-side. A modified client cannot travel to a destination it never discovered, claim a pillar, or fake a warp scroll. A teleport queue processes at most 2 trips per tick with up to 8 pending, anti-spam limits restrict list openings, edits and travel requests, and per-world data is stored as world SavedData so separate worlds never mix.

Configuration and Commands

All settings live in config/minetp.json and can be edited in-game with /minetp config set <field> <value>. Key options include teleportCostMode, teleportCooldownSeconds, maxWaystonesPerPlayer, pillar spacing per dimension, pillarMinDistance, villagePillars, scrollFreeTravel and the lightning settings. Operators with permission level 2 also get commands such as /minetp give, /minetp pillar spawn, /minetp pillar count, /minetp village status and /minetp index rebuild.

How to Install MineTP

Learning how to install the mod is quick. First, make sure you are running Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge 21.1.233 or newer and Java 21. Drop the mod file into your mods folder, then launch the game. Remember that client and server must run the same version of the mod, since the network protocol is version 5. Natural pillars only appear in newly generated chunks, so existing worlds will receive them as you explore fresh terrain, and villages get theirs when their chunks load.

Final Thoughts

MineTP turns fast travel into a proper progression system rather than a free teleport button. Waystones reward exploration and ownership, Elysian Teleport Pillars create shared public hubs across all three dimensions, and Warp Scrolls provide a reliable escape when you are lost or overburdened. For survival players and server admins alike, it is a clean, stable and highly configurable way to shrink a vast world down to a manageable network of destinations.
