MechWorks: Pilot a Custom War Machine and Automate Your Whole Base

Most tech mods ask you to build a machine. MechWorks hands you a cockpit. This Fabric add-on drops a fully customizable war machine into your world, then surrounds it with the worker bots, power grid, and logistics to keep an entire operation humming while you are off doing something else. If you have ever wanted to stomp across a ravine in a plated colossus while your mines run themselves, this is the add-on that finally delivers.

Climb Into the Cockpit

Craft a Mech Chassis, right-click the ground, and climb in. First person puts you behind a proper cockpit HUD: a targeting reticle, compass strip, energy and hull readouts, and a lock-on computer that paints anything near your crosshair. The cockpit shows energy and armor rails, velocity, altitude, and your armament bound to each mouse button. Yes, that chicken locked at 15 meters has made a serious mistake.

Nine Hardpoints, Endless Builds

Every mech is assembled from modules slotted into nine hardpoints, so no two pilots fly the same machine:

  • Arms (x2): Drill, Quarry Drill, Blaster, Power Fist, Beam Saber, Gatling Gun, or Texture Sprayer
  • Shoulder: Missile Pod or deployable Sentry Drone
  • Legs: Jet Thrusters for +18% speed, higher jumps, and a V-key dash
  • Torso: Cargo Module, Vault, or Hold with 27 to 81 paged slots
  • Head: Solar Helmet for trickle charging
  • Back: Mech Wings for true flight
  • Battery and Plating: Iron up to Netherite, boosting energy capacity and armor

A fully plated mech shrugs off a wither while the beam saber carves thirds off its health bar. The machine packs 160 HP, immunity to wither and poison, and no fall damage, since big drops ground-pound everything nearby instead. Dye the accent paint any color and install plating for a matching trim. Look good doing it.

MechBots Handle the Busywork

Knee-high workers dock to a Charging Chest and simply get on with it. The Forester plants a dense sapling grid, fells whole trees branches included, sweeps up every sapling and apple, banks the logs, and restocks itself. The X-Ray Miner scans a configurable radius down to bedrock, tunnels to ore, hauls it home, and flies back no-clip if it gets stuck, giving up on unreachable veins instead of sulking. Bots double as chunk loaders, so your farm and mine keep running while you are a continent away, even through server restarts. Sneak-click to pocket a bot, bag and all.

Power Grid, Access Terminal, and Servo Gauntlet

The standalone power grid speaks Team Reborn Energy, playing perfectly with Tech Reborn but needing nothing beyond Fabric API. Photon Arrays MK-I through MK-IV generate 1 to 64 E/t with an onboard night buffer, Power Conduits connect six ways, and Capacitor Banks store 200k to 3.2M E. A Charging Pad parks and charges mechs, while the Charging Chest serves as bot dock, deposit box, and battery in one.

The Access Terminal turns any adjacent chest wall into one scrollable, count-sorted view with a self-restocking 3x3 craft grid. Prefer to work by hand? Load any arm module into the Servo Gauntlet and run a drill, blaster, saber, or sprayer on internal power. If you would rather skip the manual setup entirely, the foxygame.net launcher installs MechWorks in a single click and keeps it updated automatically, so your modpack never falls behind.

Versions, Loader, and How to Install

MechWorks for Minecraft targets Fabric Loader with Fabric API on Minecraft 1.20.1, and Tech Reborn is optional for cable, battery, and charger interoperability. To download MechWorks and get flying, grab the jar, drop it into your mods folder alongside Fabric API, and launch the Fabric profile. Craft the Field Manual for 12 in-game pages covering everything from your first chassis to the power grid, and tune balance knobs like health, energy costs, and solar rates in config/mechworks.json. Licensed under MIT, it slots into any mod pack without asking permission.

Whether you want a walking fortress, a self-running quarry, or a base that manages itself while you explore, MechWorks scales from a single chassis to a fully automated empire. Build the mech, arm it to the teeth, and let the bots handle everything else.
