LeashAll
Ever tried to lead a ghast home or drag a villager to your trading hall only to watch the lead snap back uselessly? LeashAll fixes that frustration in one clean sweep. This mod transforms the ordinary lead into a universal tether, letting you leash almost any mob, animal, or even player in the game. Whether you are building a zoo, relocating a warden, or just want to parade a creeper around your base, LeashAll removes the vanilla restrictions that made leashing so limited.
What LeashAll Actually Does
The core idea is simple: if it exists in your world, you can probably leash it. Right-click any animal or mob with a lead to attach it to yourself. From there, the mod opens up a handful of clever interactions that go far beyond vanilla behavior.
- Leash anything: Right-click almost any vanilla creature with a lead to tether it to you.
- Chain creatures together: Already have mobs leashed to you? Sneak and right-click another creature to attach your current targets to it instead. No extra lead required.
- Take the leash back: Right-click a mob that is leashed to something else to transfer the leash back to yourself. A lead in hand is optional here.
- Detach with an empty hand: If a creature is leashed to you, right-click it with an empty hand to release it instantly.
These four interactions cover nearly every leashing scenario you will run into, and they work on players too, which makes for some entertaining multiplayer moments.
Supported Versions and Loaders
LeashAll is built for modern Minecraft and ships as a server-side friendly mod. It supports current Minecraft releases across the major mod loaders, so whether you run Fabric or NeoForge, you can drop it in without hassle. The mod is designed so that vanilla clients can join a server running LeashAll and still use the core leashing mechanics seamlessly. That said, some visual effects and client-side features may not display correctly for players without the mod installed, so client installation is recommended for the full experience.
Singleplayer works perfectly too. Just drop the file into your mods folder as usual and you are ready to go. If you would rather skip the manual setup, the foxygame.net launcher offers a one-click install for LeashAll, handling the download and placement for you so you can get straight into leashing mobs.
How to Install LeashAll
For Singleplayer
Download LeashAll for Minecraft from your preferred mod source, then place the jar file into your mods folder. Launch the game with your chosen loader profile and the mod will be active immediately.
For Servers
Install LeashAll on the server. Client installation is optional, meaning vanilla players can still connect and use the mod's leashing features. For the best visual results, encourage players to install it client-side as well.
Configuration Options
LeashAll gives server owners fine-grained control through a TOML config file. The active world config lives at world/serverconfig/leashall-server.toml, while the pack default sits at defaultconfigs/leashall-server.toml. Use the defaultconfigs file if you want every new world or server save to start with your preferred rules.
- useEntityAllowList: When false (default), all mobs are allowed unless blocked. When true, only mobs in allowedEntities can be leashed.
- allowedEntities: A list of entity ids or entity tags to allow.
- blockedEntities: A list of entity ids or entity tags to block.
- maxLeashesPerPlayer: The maximum number of mobs one player can leash at once. Set to -1 for unlimited, which is the default.
Entry formats are flexible. You can use a specific entity id like minecraft:ghast, a modded id like examplemod:custom_beast, an entity tag such as #minecraft:raiders, or a modded tag like #c:bosses. For example, to allow everything except wardens and ghasts, set useEntityAllowList to false and add those two ids to blockedEntities. To allow only villagers, iron golems, and raiders, flip useEntityAllowList to true and list them in allowedEntities. You can also cap each player at five active leashes by setting maxLeashesPerPlayer to 5.
Final Thoughts
LeashAll is one of those quality-of-life mods that quietly changes how you play. Moving mobs around your world stops being a chore and becomes genuinely fun. With flexible config options, broad loader support, and seamless multiplayer compatibility, it earns a permanent spot in any modpack. Download LeashAll, drop it in, and start leading creatures that vanilla Minecraft never intended you to lead.
