Krylix
Minecraft combat has always been a little quiet. You land the final hit, the screen flashes, and the other player vanishes without a word. Krylix changes that by bringing the combat information you know from shooters into the blocky world, drawn in Minecraft's own visual style. It is a client-and-server mod for Fabric and NeoForge that covers kill feeds, health plates, mob statistics and an all-time PvP leaderboard, with an addon API on top for anyone who wants to build further.
What Krylix Adds to Your Game
The mod bundles four features that work together, plus a small screen for every one of them. Everything stays out of the way until you press a key, so your screen is not cluttered during normal play.
Kill Feed
Every player death on the server appears in the top-right corner for a few seconds. You see the killer and victim heads, real player skins with the hat layer, or the mob's own face for 43 supported mobs. The weapon that did it and the killer's remaining health are shown alongside.
- Badges for critical hits, mace smashes and long shots of 30 or more blocks with a bow or trident, including the distance
- Knock-offs count: push someone off a cliff, into lava or into the void and the kill is yours, with a feather or lava bucket as the finishing icon
- Tamed wolves credit their owner, using the wolf's spawn egg as the weapon
- Falls, fire, drowning, freezing, anvils and self-kills get a clean one-sided row with their own icon
- Rows fade after 15 seconds, up to 5 at once, both configurable
Mob faces are small JSON files, so resource packs can restyle them and modpacks can add faces for modded mobs without touching code.
Health Plates
Aim at any living entity up to 48 blocks away and a plate appears above its head showing the name, the game's own heart sprites and the exact HP out of max HP. Plates are drawn full-bright, so they remain readable in caves, under trees and at night. They respect the game's nametag rules for invisible players, team visibility, sneaking players at distance, the server's nametag distance and F1, so a plate never reveals a name the game itself hides. Press H to hide them.
Mob Stats and Leaderboard
A compact panel in the top-left corner counts the hostile mobs you have killed in this world, most-killed first, each with its face. Counts are per player, stored by the server, survive restarts and arrive when you join. Press J to hide it.
Press U for the leaderboard, which is a proper screen rather than a wall of chat. The PvP tab shows kills, deaths and K/D in separate columns for every player the server has seen, while the Mob Kills tab ranks players by mobs killed. Player faces, your own row highlighted, smooth scrolling and 60 players per page with controls at the bottom. Statistics are all-time per world and sent only when you open the screen.
Death Recap
When you die, a card under the Respawn button shows who killed you, their face, how much health they had left, the damage you dealt in the fight, and the same crit, smash and long-shot badges as the feed.
Supported Versions and Installation
Krylix targets Minecraft 26.3 on both Fabric and NeoForge. On Fabric you need Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer plus Fabric API 0.161 or newer; on NeoForge you need 26.3.0.33-beta or newer. Cloth Config is required on both loaders, and Mod Menu is optional but adds a Config button on Fabric. Krylix 1.3.1 for 26.1.2 remains available on the same pages for players on older releases.
If you would rather skip the manual setup, the foxygame.net launcher installs Krylix in a single click and keeps it updated automatically, checking version compatibility for you before every launch.
How to Install Krylix
- Install the loader for your version, then add Fabric API on Fabric and Cloth Config on both loaders
- Download Krylix for Minecraft from Modrinth, CurseForge or the project's releases page
- Drop the .jar into the mods folder on the client and on the server
- Launch the game and open Mods, then Krylix, then Config to adjust settings
Players without the mod can still join a Krylix server, and Krylix players can join vanilla servers; they simply miss the feed. Statistics live inside the world folder, so they travel with the world, and worlds from Krylix 1.3 keep their numbers.
Configuration, Keys and Commands
K is the kill feed, J the mob stats panel, U the leaderboard and H the health plates, all rebindable under Options, Controls in the Krylix category. Settings live in game under Mods, Krylix, Config, and in config/krylix.json5. You can change how long feed rows stay on screen, how many appear at once, the health bar style between HEARTS, BLOCKS, ASCII, DOTS and NUMBER_ONLY, and more.
Server operators get /krylix toggle to switch the feed off for everyone until the next restart and /krylix status to check whether it is running and how many players are tracked. The restrictBroadcastToSameDimension option keeps kills inside their own dimension. The mod is fully translated into 13 languages, including English, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, German, Dutch, Swedish, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Addon API and Final Thoughts
Other mods can plug into Krylix the way addons work for Jade or Thermal. The API ships inside the mod as a small separate artifact, so players install nothing extra. Addons can decide who gets kill credit for turrets or summoned minions, hide a kill from the feed while keeping it out of statistics, react to every kill and death for rewards or Discord webhooks, and supply health numbers for bosses and custom health systems. A working example addon exists for both loaders.
Krylix is MIT licensed, authored by eliasnvx, and built for everyone who wants to know who got the last hit. If you want combat on your server to feel alive, download Krylix, drop it into your mods folder and let the feed tell the story of every fight.
