SimpleOres Fabric: New Ores, Tools, and Armor for Minecraft

Rediscovering Classic Ores: SimpleOres Fabric for Minecraft

Minecraft’s underground has always been a place of mystery and reward. While vanilla gives us iron, gold, diamonds, and the more recent addition of copper, many players yearn for the nostalgic thrill of uncovering rare, powerful materials. That’s where SimpleOres Fabric steps in—a faithful, unofficial port of the beloved Forge mod by AleXndrTheGr8st (aka Skrallexy), now fully adapted for the Fabric and Quilt mod loaders. It injects four brand-new ores into your world, each with its own personality, armor sets, tools, and building blocks, without bloating the experience.

What Ores Does SimpleOres Fabric Add?

Forget complex alloy systems or convoluted processing chains. This mod keeps things refreshingly straightforward while still giving you meaningful progression. The four ores are:

• Tin – A common overworld ore that’s perfect for early-game tools and sturdy building blocks. Its raw metal drops just like vanilla ores, making it feel like a natural extension of the game.
• Mythril – A mid-tier overworld ore with a shimmering, magical vibe. Mythril armor and tools sit comfortably between iron and diamond, offering a stylish alternative for adventurers who love a fantasy touch.
• Adamantium – The heavy hitter of the overworld. This ore is rarer than mythril and yields incredibly durable gear, rivaling diamond in protection and mining speed. Perfect for those who want to feel invincible before tackling the Nether.
• Onyx – The only ore exclusive to the Nether. Instead of dropping raw metal, onyx ore drops the gem itself, ready to be crafted into top-tier equipment. Its deep black and purple tones make it a favorite for builders and warriors alike.

One clever detail: because vanilla Minecraft eventually added copper ore but never included copper tools or armor, SimpleOres Fabric still provides those missing pieces (prior to version 1.21.9). You can craft copper swords, pickaxes, and full armor sets, finally giving that orange metal a real purpose beyond lightning rods and spyglasses.

More Than Just Ores and Tools

SimpleOres Fabric isn’t just about digging up shiny new metals. The mod expands your creative palette with a host of decorative and functional blocks. You’ll unlock mythril, tin, adamantium, and onyx bars, which can be turned into doors, bricks, and brick stairs. Copper doors (before Minecraft 1.21) also make an appearance, adding that extra layer of detail to your builds. The textures are directly inherited from the original mod, so they retain the charming, slightly nostalgic aesthetic that long-time fans will recognize immediately.

For modpack creators and developers, the mod is a dream to integrate. It’s licensed under LGPL 3.0, meaning you’re free to include it in your packs and even tweak the code. Crushed and powder versions of all ores are available natively, and compatibility with Energized Power was introduced in version 1.3.1 (and 1.3.2 for Minecraft 1.20.1+), making cross-mod automation a breeze.

Getting Started with SimpleOres Fabric

To run this mod, you’ll need Fabric API installed alongside it—that’s the only dependency. The installation process is straightforward if you’re used to dropping files into the mods folder, but there’s an even smoother way to dive in. For players who prefer a streamlined modding experience, the foxygame.net launcher makes installation effortless—this modern and flexible launcher lets you browse and download mods directly from its built-in menu, so you can jump into the adventure without fiddling with manual file placements. Once loaded, the ores will generate naturally in your world: tin, mythril, and adamantium spawn in the overworld at various depths, while onyx waits for you in the fiery caverns of the Nether.

Why Choose This Mod Over Others?

In a sea of ore-adding mods that overwhelm you with dozens of new materials and complex tech trees, SimpleOres Fabric stands out by respecting vanilla balance. It doesn’t introduce copper ore or ingots because vanilla already handles that, and it sticks to the raw metal drop mechanic that feels right at home. The progression is intuitive: start with tin, work your way up to mythril, then adamantium, and finally conquer the Nether for onyx. Each tier feels like a meaningful upgrade without making your old gear obsolete overnight.

The community-driven nature of the project is another huge plus. Sinhika currently maintains the Forge version, while this Fabric port carries forward the same spirit of open collaboration. Whether you’re a solo player seeking a fresh survival challenge or a server admin looking to spice up the economy, SimpleOres Fabric delivers a polished, lightweight expansion that never feels out of place.

Building Your Legend, One Ore at a Time

SimpleOres Fabric is a love letter to the classic Minecraft modding era, updated for modern loaders. It proves that sometimes the best additions are the ones that blend seamlessly into the world you already know. The next time you’re mining deep underground and spot a vein of turquoise mythril or rugged adamantium, you’ll remember why the simple thrill of discovery never gets old. So grab your pickaxe, fire up your preferred launcher, and let these four ores reshape your next adventure.
