Kabuto's simple mining helmet
Sometimes the best Minecraft add-ons are the ones that do just one thing and do it well. Kabuto's simple mining helmet is exactly that—a lightweight mod that introduces a single piece of armor designed to make your underground expeditions safer, faster, and more rewarding. No complicated mechanics, no overwhelming new systems. Just a helmet that gives you a few essential buffs the moment you put it on.
What Does the Mining Helmet Do?
Once equipped, the mining helmet grants three powerful status effects: Night Vision, Luck, and Haste. Night Vision lets you see clearly in the darkest caves without placing a single torch. Luck increases your chances of finding rare loot in chests and improves ore drops. Haste speeds up your mining, so you can carve through stone and deepslate like never before. Together, these effects turn a routine mining trip into a highly efficient resource-gathering run.
The helmet itself is a standalone armor piece. You don't need to craft a full set or unlock any special recipes—just obtain it and wear it. The mod's creator kept things intentionally minimal, focusing on a single item that fills a niche many players have wanted for years.
How to Install Kabuto's simple mining helmet
Getting this add-on into your game is straightforward, especially if you're already familiar with modded Minecraft. The mod is built for Minecraft 1.20.1 and requires the Forge mod loader. Make sure you have the correct version of Forge installed before you begin.
Manual Installation Steps
- Download the Kabuto's simple mining helmet .jar file from a trusted source.
- Locate your Minecraft installation folder and open the "mods" directory.
- Place the downloaded .jar file into the mods folder.
- Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile, and the helmet will be available in your game.
If you're using the foxygame.net launcher, the process is even simpler. The launcher's built-in add-on catalog includes Kabuto's simple mining helmet, so you can install it with a single click and let the launcher handle version compatibility automatically—no need to hunt down files or worry about mismatched mod loaders.
A Quirky Little Detail
According to the mod's description, the creator only tried to apply the first level of each effect. In practice, this means the buffs might not always behave exactly as you'd expect from a standard potion. For example, the Night Vision might not be as bright as a full potion, or the Haste might feel slightly less impactful. However, most players find that the effects still work well enough to make a noticeable difference. The creator themselves shrugged it off with a casual "Eh, not really a problem"—and honestly, it isn't. The helmet remains a fantastic quality-of-life tool.
