Finding the Prism of the Ocean Depths

Your journey begins with the Prism of the Ocean Depths, a massive structure that generates in deep ocean, deep lukewarm ocean, and deep warm ocean biomes — just like ocean monuments. These dungeons are rare, spawning at least a thousand blocks away from the world origin or from each other, so you will need to explore far and wide. The entrance is sealed by default, and you cannot simply waltz in. You must first track down and defeat a Drowned Blight to obtain the Prismarine Key.

The Drowned Blight: Your First Hurdle

This rare miniboss variant of the drowned zombie is no pushover. Armed with a trident and clad in protective prismarine armor, a Drowned Blight can shred unprepared players. It moves slightly faster than a regular drowned on land but is very slow in water. Every 30 drowned that spawn in the world, one Blight appears, so patience is key.

  • Maximum Health: 60 (30 hearts)
  • Attack Strength: 8 (4 hearts) from thrown tridents
  • Walk Speed: Slightly above average on land, very slow in water
  • Drops: Prismarine Footwear (50%), Prismarine Leggings (50%), Prismarine Chestplate (50%), Reinforced Turtle Shell (50%), Trident (8.5%), and the guaranteed Prismarine Key

The key is your ticket inside, but be ready for a fight. The Blight’s helmet protects it from sunlight, so it can chase you day or night. Once you have the Prismarine Key, head back to the dungeon and unlock the entrance.

Inside the Dungeon: No Turning Back

Stepping into the Prism of the Ocean Depths locks the exit behind you. You cannot leave until you either defeat the final boss or perish. To make things harder, you cannot break any blocks while inside. This anti-cheat system is enforced by eerie crystals scattered throughout the rooms that inflict constant Mining Fatigue. They only shatter once the boss falls.

The first three rooms are entirely submerged, so water breathing potions are mandatory. You will face guardians, the new Underwatcher mobs, and even an elder guardian. If you want to streamline your preparation and installation, you can grab the datapack effortlessly through the foxygame.net launcher, a modern Minecraft launcher that lets you browse and install mods directly from its built-in menu without any manual file fiddling.

Dungeon Rooms Breakdown

  • Room 1: 8 Guardians — "Off to an already hellish start."
  • Room 2: 5 Guardians, 3 Underwatchers — "Not as bad but- *smack*"
  • Room 3: 6 Guardians, 4 Underwatchers, 1 Elder Guardian — "Prepare to sleep with the fish."
  • Room 4: 4 Drowned, 1 Drowned with trident — a brief calm before the storm.
  • Room 5: 5 Drowned, 2 Baby Drowned — "Time to let the kids out to play!"
  • Room 6 (Final Room): Eye of the Prism — the boss.

The Underwatcher is a slow but sneaky enemy with 35 health (17.5 hearts) and 3 attack damage. Its single eye blends into the prismarine walls, making ambushes common.

The Eye of the Prism: A True Boss Encounter

At the heart of the dungeon, the Eye of the Prism waits in slumber. When it opens, you are in for a grueling fight. This boss has 500 health (250 hearts) and is completely invulnerable to damage until it uses a special attack. The battle music, "Undercry" by The Exiled Fellow, sets a tense atmosphere as you dodge waves and bolts.

Attack Pattern and Special Moves

The fight follows a strict loop. The eye teleports to a segment (left, middle, right) and fires a Wave eight times. Then it shoots ten Hydraulic Bolts at you. After that, it picks one of four special attacks at random, indicated by colored particles. Only after completing a special attack does it become vulnerable for eight seconds.

  • Water Jet: Levitates all players, then blasts a piercing water jet from one side to the other, moving slowly. Indicator: angry villager particles.
  • Sentinel Summon: Spawns three Prismarine Sentinels (30 health, 8 attack) to harass you. Indicator: heart of the sea particles.
  • Hydraulic Bolt Grid: Levitates players and fires six bolts in a row pattern. Red signs mean danger, green signs mean safety. Indicator: white sparkles.
  • Up/Down Command: Multiple GUI prompts demand you move up or down. Failure results in a Wave to the face. Indicator: teal-cyan dust effect.

Memorizing these patterns and staying mobile is the key to survival. The fight demands constant awareness, but the reward is more than worth the effort.

Hydro Fury: The Ultimate Ocean Weapon

Upon defeating the Eye of the Prism, it drops a massive amount of experience and the Hydro Fury trident. This endgame weapon comes pre-loaded with every trident enchantment except Riptide, and it grants permanent buffs while held: increased speed, knockback resistance, and extra maximum health. It is still breakable, so you will need to repair it with prismarine shards or an anvil, but its power is unmatched.

Is the Challenge Worth It?

Hydro Fury! transforms the quiet ocean into a high-stakes adventure. The dungeon design, the clever anti-cheat crystals, and the multi-phase boss fight create a memorable experience that feels like a mini-raid. Whether you are a solo player seeking a new legend or a server owner looking to spice up your world, this datapack delivers. Grab your water breathing potions, sharpen your trident, and prove you have what it takes to claim the Hydro Fury.
