HxCEnchants: The Ultimate Custom Enchantments Mod for Minecraft

What Is HxCEnchants?

HxCEnchants is a massive, highly configurable enchantment expansion for Minecraft 1.7.10 that adds dozens of unique, game-changing abilities to your gear. Unlike many enchantment mods that simply tweak vanilla numbers, this one introduces entirely new mechanics: auras that affect the world around you, combat triggers that reshape battles, and utility perks that redefine how you interact with blocks and mobs. Every aspect of the mod—from the rarity of each enchant to its maximum level and whether it even appears in survival—can be fine-tuned through a single config file, making it a favorite among server owners and modpack creators who want full control.

Built on the author’s HxCCore library, HxCEnchants extends the internal enchantment ID array to 512, so you never run out of room for custom enchants even when stacking multiple mods. The current release has been thoroughly tested in a MultiMC 5 v0.6.0-dev-1065 environment, and all listed enchantments work as intended—provided you pay attention to one small configuration quirk (more on that later).

Getting Started and Requirements

To run HxCEnchants, you need two companion mods: HxCCore (the core library that handles the extended enchantment system) and Configuration API 1.3 for 1.7.10. If you launch the game and see an “HxCConfig not found” error, double-check that Configuration API is sitting in your mods/1.7.10 folder. Both files are available on the author’s GitHub page.

One important note: the current build contains a minor code error related to the Saturating enchant. By default, the config might set its type to 6, which incorrectly treats it as a weapon enchant. To fix this, open the HxCEnchants config file and manually change the Saturation type to 5—this correctly assigns it as a helmet enchant that slowly refills your hunger bar. Once that tweak is made, everything runs smoothly. If you are using the foxygame.net launcher, installing this mod is even simpler because you can browse and add HxCEnchants directly from its integrated mod menu, saving you the hassle of manual file management.

A World of Custom Enchantments

HxCEnchants divides its massive roster into several thematic categories. Here is a taste of what you can slap onto your armor, tools, and weapons:

Aura Enchantments

Auras are passive, radius-based effects that constantly pulse around the wearer. They turn your character into a walking force of nature:

  • AuraFiery – Burns nearby entities and melts ice or snow blocks around you.
  • AuraDeadly – Applies the Wither effect to all mobs within range.
  • AuraToxic – Poisons everything that gets too close.
  • AuraDark – Blinds enemies, making them stumble helplessly.
  • AuraThick – Slows movement, perfect for crowd control.
  • IcyAura – Freezes water and slows entities, turning the battlefield into a frozen trap.
  • GaiaAura – Boosts crop growth rate in an area, a farmer’s dream.
  • HealingAura – Regenerates the health of friendly creatures and players nearby.
  • RepulsiveAura – Pushes mobs away, giving you breathing room.
  • AuraMagnetic – Pulls items and experience orbs straight into your inventory.
  • Electro-Static Aura / ChargedAura – Summons lightning strikes around you, electrifying the area.

Combat and Weapon Enchantments

These enchants turn ordinary swords and bows into legendary weapons:

  • VoidTouch – Deals void damage to hit entities and can delete specific blocks or items on mine, as defined in the config.
  • LifeSteal / Vampirism – Heals you for a portion of the damage you deal; Vampirism also fills your hunger on kills.
  • Piercing – Ignores a percentage of the target’s armor.
  • Vorpal – Chance to deal bonus damage that completely bypasses armor.
  • BloodRazor – Deals extra damage based on the enemy’s current health, scaling with enchant level.
  • OverCharge – Stores charges from your weapon and, upon release, distributes massive damage evenly among all nearby foes.
  • SlayersCurse / SCurse – Increased damage output but at a personal cost.
  • Enchant Leech – Temporarily reduces the enchantment levels on an enemy’s gear when you strike them.
  • Examine – Increases experience drops from slain mobs.
  • ExplosiveDischarge – When you take damage, you detonate, damaging everything around you.

Bow-Specific Enchantments

Archers get a whole arsenal of trick arrows:

  • LightningArrow – Much faster projectile speed.
  • Explosive / ArrowExplosive – Arrows explode on impact.
  • Zeus / ArrowZeus – Smites the target with a lightning bolt.
  • Homing / ArrowSeeking – Arrows curve toward the nearest entity, making misses nearly impossible.
  • FlamingArrow – Sets targets ablaze for a longer duration than the vanilla Flame enchant.
  • Venom / Poison – Poisons enemies on hit.

Utility and Movement Enchantments

These enchants change how you traverse and survive the world:

  • Fly – Grants creative-style flight, limited by enchant level and config settings.
  • FlashStep – On key press, teleports you to the block you are pointing at within a short range, like a Blink ability.
  • MeteorFall – Increases falling speed and causes an explosion when you land.
  • FeatherFall – Slows your descent, reducing or negating fall damage.
  • JumpBoost – Increases jump height dramatically.
  • Swiftness – Permanent movement speed boost.
  • Stealth – Mobs cannot target you, and you become invisible to other players in low light.
  • Nightvision – Clear sight in total darkness.
  • Gluttony – Automatically eats food from your inventory when hunger drops.
  • Saturating – Slowly refills your hunger bar (remember the config fix!).

Defensive and Healing Enchantments

  • DivineIntervention – When near death, instantly heals you and teleports you to your spawn point, at the cost of reducing the enchantment level.
  • BattleHealing – Grants regeneration whenever you take damage.
  • Regen – Constant health regeneration based on enchant level.
  • Vitality – Increases your maximum health.
  • WitherProtection – Nullifies damage from the Wither effect.
  • AdrenalineBoost / BattleBoost – Buffs your stats when you enter combat.

Tool Enchantments

Your pickaxes and shovels become industrial machines:

  • FlameTouch – Automatically smelts blocks you mine (iron ore becomes ingots, sand becomes glass).
  • EarthEater – Mines in a larger area, with the radius typically equal to enchant level divided by 2 or 3.
  • SpeedMine – Drastically increases mining speed.
  • Repair – Periodically restores durability on the enchanted item over time.

Configuration: Your Enchants, Your Rules

What truly sets HxCEnchants apart is the depth of its configurability. Every single enchantment can be individually enabled or disabled, have its maximum level adjusted, its rarity tweaked, and even its internal ID shifted to avoid conflicts with other mods. The config file is well-commented, and because HxCCore expands the enchant ID limit to 512, you can safely assign IDs far beyond the vanilla range. This makes it a perfect fit for large modpacks where enchantment slot collisions are a constant headache.

Conclusion

HxCEnchants breathes new life into Minecraft 1.7.10 with a staggering variety of enchantments that go well beyond simple stat increases. Whether you want to become a walking aura of destruction, a stealthy assassin, or a super-powered miner, this mod has you covered. The one-time config fix for Saturating is a minor hurdle, and once you pair it with the required core and API, you will have one of the most flexible enchantment systems ever created for the game. If you enjoy tailoring every aspect of your survival experience, HxCEnchants deserves a permanent spot in your mods folder.
