Final Chicken: The Giant Boss Mod That Turns Poultry Into a Nightmare

Most Minecraft bosses announce themselves with a roar, a portal, or a dramatic health bar sliding across the screen. The Final Chicken does all of that, but she also clucks. This Forge add-on drops a four-times-normal-size chicken boss into your world, complete with 320 health, a boss bar, explosive eggs, and a rage phase that drags real thunderstorms into the sky. If you have ever wanted a survival boss fight that feels equal parts terrifying and ridiculous, this is the one.

What the Final Chicken Brings to the Table

This isn't a simple reskin of a vanilla mob. The Final Chicken is a fully scripted encounter with layered mechanics that reward preparation and quick reflexes.

  • A chicken four times the normal size with 320 health and a dedicated boss bar.
  • Softer, fairer combat: 4 base damage per melee hit, 1 base damage per bodyguard, and a maximum of 4 damage from an egg explosion before armor reductions.
  • Shield parries: raise your shield and face an incoming egg to send it flying back where you are looking. Returned eggs can hurt the boss and cap out at 10 damage.
  • Up to four temporary bodyguard chicks, summoned two at a time.
  • A rage phase below half health featuring red and black feathers, white eyes, faster attacks, and genuine rain and thunder in sky-lit dimensions.
  • A three-second death animation with shaking, flashes, and swelling, ending in a harmless explosion and twenty ordinary passive chickens.

Egg explosions never break blocks or start fires, so your builds stay safe. When the boss dies, her guards and eggs vanish, and the previous weather returns after a short natural fade.

Summoning Her in Survival: The Forbidden Nest

You do not need commands or a spawn egg to fight her in survival. The Forbidden Nest ritual handles everything.

Step-by-Step Ritual

  • Place three hay bales in a horizontal row, running east to west or north to south.
  • Leave a clear space at least three blocks wide and three blocks high above the middle bale.
  • Hold wheat seeds and right-click the middle hay bale. The nest accepts up to 16 seeds.
  • Repeat with 4 feathers. With full stacks, one click each finishes the offering.
  • Right-click with an empty hand to check stored progress.
  • Once both ingredients are complete, a five-second ritual begins with purple spiraling particles, smoke, souls, and accelerating heartbeats. Step back.
  • The Final Chicken emerges small, spins, flaps, and grows over two and a half seconds. Combat starts only after the entrance finishes.

Each ingredient's progress saves with the world, including incomplete offerings. Breaking the nest or switching to Peaceful refunds your materials, and the countdown pauses while the area is unloaded. Clicking an end bale, missing hay, or a blocked space produces a message without consuming items. Hay bales, wheat seeds, and feathers even display the instructions in their tooltips.

Versions, Loader, and How to Install

Final Chicken for Minecraft targets Java Edition 1.20.1 and runs on Forge 47.2 or later within the 47.x series, with Java 17 required. It was built and tested on Forge 47.4.20. Install the same mod on clients and on your own Forge server when playing together, though note that multiplayer has not yet been tested.

To get started, download Final Chicken and place the JAR file into the Forge profile's mods folder, then launch Forge. Replace any previous Gallina Final JAR so only one version stays installed. If the spawn egg is missing, check the Forge profile and the Mods screen, and inspect logs/latest.log for errors.

Players who prefer a smoother setup can grab the add-on through the foxygame.net launcher, which keeps Final Chicken updated automatically and flags version compatibility before anything breaks. In Creative, search for Final Chicken in the Spawn Eggs tab and use the egg on the ground, or run the give command with the gallinafinal:gallina_final_spawn_egg identifier.

Weather, Drops, and Removal

The storm during the rage phase is real world weather. It can spread across the Overworld beyond your arena, following normal vanilla thunderstorm behavior, though no storm appears in the Nether or the End. Removing or unloading an enraged boss releases her weather claim, and the weather snapshot saves with the world for recovery after a restart.

Drops include golden apples, feathers, and experience, with diamonds awarded for a player kill. The boss attacks Survival and Adventure players while Creative and Spectator players observe safely. She never spawns naturally.

Before removing any mod that adds entities, back up your world. Close Minecraft and delete the JAR to uninstall. Test conflicts in a separate profile first.

The Verdict

The Final Chicken is a clever twist on boss design. It takes Minecraft's most harmless mob and rebuilds it into a genuine threat with parry mechanics, escalating phases, and a finale that literally rains chickens. Whether you fight her for the challenge, the drops, or the sheer absurdity, this Forge add-on earns a permanent slot in your mods folder.
