Smart Monitoring That Understands Your Playstyle
DuraPing is not just a simple threshold checker. It is designed to be smart about how you actually play. The mod fires an alert only once on a downward threshold crossing, then re-arms itself only after your durability recovers. This is especially useful for Mending users or anyone with modded durability regen, thanks to configurable hysteresis. There is also an activity-aware mode that stretches warn and danger cooldowns while you are continuously mining, so a long dig session does not spam you with notifications. If you prefer an even quieter experience, you can enable the quiet-below-warn option, which makes the warn tier visual-only with no sound or chat.
Per-Item Thresholds and Overrides
Not all gear is created equal. An elytra needs a much earlier warning than a stone sword, and DuraPing lets you set per-item overrides keyed by the namespaced item id. You can set a netherite pickaxe to warn at 30% while an elytra warns at 15%, danger at 7%, and critical at 1%. The config file lives at config/duraping.json and is created on first launch, making it easy to tweak everything manually. On Fabric, you can also edit everything live through the Escape, Mods, DuraPing, Config menu, provided you have Mod Menu and Cloth Config installed. On NeoForge, you simply edit the JSON file directly.
How to Install DuraPing and Get Started
Installing the mod is straightforward. DuraPing runs on both Fabric and NeoForge, and it supports Minecraft versions 1.21.9, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11, requiring Java 21. To download DuraPing, head to the official release page and grab the file that matches your loader and Minecraft version. Drop the JAR into your mods folder and launch the game. On Fabric, Mod Menu and Cloth Config are optional but recommended for the in-game settings screen; everything works fine without them through the config file. All of these are fully rebindable to suit your setup.
Client-Side Only, Server Friendly
One of the best things about DuraPing is that it is entirely client-side. It reads only your own inventory and never talks to the server, so it works perfectly on vanilla servers, modded servers that do not have it installed, and in singleplayer.
